June 8

Today is here. Finally. A time to celebrate, to ponder.

22 years ago today, I cut my fingers off in an ice shredder working at a snow cone stand. Most every detail I can remember, clearly, except for what the fingers actually looked like. It was a horrifying experience, all in all, but I got Worker’s Comp and a boyfriend. The first time for both of those. Worker’s Comp checks went directly to Fashion Gal, and Bobby Hathaway, after a few moments of bliss, went directly to Deanne Holland.

Both things have stayed with me, molding, shaping my life the last 22 years. Strange but true. I even had a BH dream last night. Not a “he loves me, he really loves me” dream, but pretty much the same scenario all these years later. I love him, he loves some pretty skinny brunette, I pine away, he goes away.

I’m sure Dr. Ronnie would have a freakin’ field day with that one. We’ll let it lie for now.

In other news, rehearsals are going well. We’re off until Monday, when we work on the outdoor gazebo stage and are off book for the first time. Cross fingers and send luck.

I have a decent workday today and tomorrow, so that’s nice. I’ve had to miss quite a few hours of work for the show, and I’m sure to see it in the paychecks. Tomorrow I have tickets to Wicked. That’s exciting! I heard it was a great cast, great show. Looking forward to that. Sunday I get to hang with the Wonderboy. He’s here going to VBS with BonusMom at her church. So it’s gonna be a nice weekend.

Tonight, I do believe I may have a date with Gert to see my boyfriend. She just got home from a trip to Minnesota, so hopefully it’ll work out. I think this Ocean’s will be the best yet. Al AND George???? I mean come ON!!! I may have to visit the nervous hospital after it’s over. I’ll let you know.

Meanwhile, Huzzuah and Happy Friday people. Enjoy the weekend. Eat a snow cone in my honor. Go see the movie. Breathe in Breathe Out Move on.

and I love George Clooney.

I am sad about that

Came home from rehearsal last night to find my patio in chaos. The wind, the 30 plus mile an hour winds had blown over my umbrella and glass table. Yes, we should have put the umbrella down, but it wasn’t windy when I left and I didn’t even think ahead. I came home to see it all toppled over, the umbrella in pieces. I loved this thing. It was a special gift from my Mom and Bonus Dad, that they spent way too much on and that Bonus Dad really picked out for me. Nice. and now, in pieces being used as a kitty tent.

Sad to get sad about “stuff” when there is really important stuff to get sad about, but it is what it is.

On a brighter note, rehearsal started to really come together last night. I left there feeling pretty good. There are a few scenes that just draaaaaaaaaag, but hopefully those will get corrected and we’ll have a fun show.

Huzzah and Happy Thursday. Tomorrow my bf G.C. has a new movie opening and it looks as if I’ll have to view it by myself. Everyone is either working, out of the state, sitting with kids/grandkids. Whatever. I’m SO GOING!!! Happy Day and I love George Clooney!

Ten Things Tuesday: George Edition

In honor of the imminent arrival of Ocean’s Thirteen staring my boyfriend George Clooney, I thought I’d do a nice little list of what-not’s for you. Tasty tidbits, if you will.

10.) His filmography is extensive, and while I was looking thru it I remembered him on Sisters. Sigh with me everyone. That was a great show. He was super sexy as Detective James Falconer….

9.)He’s the only Batman to ever win an Oscar.

8.) The infamous pet pig, Max, died last year.

7.) One of my top favorite South Park episodes, Big Gay Al’s Big Gay Boatride, starred my boyfriend as Sparky, the dog. I remember seeing this ep when I was touring. So funny.

6.)Three Kings got him famous more for his fight with his fight with the director, but also solidified the friendship with Mark Wahlberg who starred with him in the Perfect Storm. Both of these films, I really really like.

5.) That bet he made with Nicole Kidman and Michelle Pfeiffer went bust. No kids. at 40. and it looks like not by 50 either. That is a sad bloodline to go to waste.

4.) Speaking of Michelle, One Fine Day is on top of my Sunday movie on tv must watch list.

3.) I haven’t seen the entire piece he filmed in Dufar, but am happy to see celebrity working for the greater good.

2.) He’s a busy busy bee. Five projects in pre/post production, so says IMDB.

1.) If you never loved him before, O Brother Where Art Thou should have sealed the deal for you. He’s a Dapper Dan man, bona fide keeper of my heart.

And then there were nine

Had our first rehearsal in a week last night…blocking all of act 2 and starting at 6. Huh. Two of us started at 6, the rest of these women motored in starting at 7 and thru 7:30!!!! THEN we find out that one girl has quit the show. She’s “tried to get ahold of the director” bla bla bla. So we’re now, three weeks into production, three weeks until we open and down one cast member. HOLY EFFING CRAPPOLA ON A CRACKER!

I am annoyed and trying to find humor in it.

meanwhile…after three weeks on no meetings or no weighing in, I went to WW today.

I had a small loss, and the grand total of 12.8. Not bad. That is how much those hedge trimmers weigh, so the thought of carrying that around, or NOT carrying that around feels good. I’m going to get the tires on my new mountain bike fixed today, so that will be in my future!

Our a/c is on the fritz, so am waiting for the guy to come have a cookie lookie. Heading outside to plant some things and get some sun and activity.
