Ok. Ok ok ok ok OKAY!!! It’s time to get back on the Ten Things wagon. I was checking out my sitemeter and followed some hits back to Mrs. Chili’s post. Mrs. Chili is a bf of Kizz so it is through her that I joined in to begin with.
Since I just randomly looked around the room for inspiration, this list will be the books on my ottoman. Some have been read completely. Some have been started and not finished. Some are brand new and haven’t even been opened yet. We’ll see if you’ve read any, and what your thoughts are.
10)Chronicles Volume 1 by Bob Dylan
haven’t read this, nor do I know much about it, but it was on the buy 2 get 1 table and I have always loved Dylan so that was enough for me to buy it.
9.)Born Standing Up–Steve Martin
What’s not to love about anything this man writes. I’ve heard great things on this and can hardly wait to crack it open.
8.) One of Ours–Willa Cather
the bookclub selection. As stated previously, only 23 pages into it.
7.)Between the Bridge and the River–Craig Ferguson
am a little over a quarter of the way into this and I really like it. Apparently not enough to not put it down, but in all fairness I got sidetracked by the next book.
8.)SexGod–Rob Bell
I’ve recently discovered this man. I love that he breaks down steroetypes about the Christian faith and how we worship. This book deals with relationships and in the most amazing turn, does not get preachy about it. His style is clear and comes from a place of kindness and discovery. It made me feel.
7.)Kitchen Confidential–Anthony Bourdain
Cannot wait to read this. It may scoot itself to the top of the list.
6.)Dreams of My Father–Barak Obama
I bought the last copies of his two books the other day. I want to know more about him, and though I think it’d be easier to listen to him via audio book, I’ve discovered some interesting things about his life. I want him to be my POTUS.
5.)October Issue of Vanity Fair
Ok. Not a book, but reading material nonetheless. I subscribed to this magazine when I moved into my house. I love it. It takes me awhile to get thru each issue but I always learn something and oooo the pretty Annie Lebowitz photographs!
4.)The Complete C.S. Lewis
I know I’ve read him before. But I can’t remember any of it. Not really. Have any of you read?
3.)Foder’s Travel Guide to New York.
It’s Rogers. I have all of his NYC books stacked neatly here ready to return, but while they await that trip, I’m perusing again.
2.)Velvet Elvis–Rob Bell
His first book that made me go…WOAH. I’m not the only one that feels this way about Mega-Six-Flags-Over-Jesus-Churches!
1.)Eat, Bitch and Wine
If any of you know me at all, you know my affinity for the cookbooks. This one was a gift from BonusMom last year and while I haven’t made anything out of it yet, I love reading it if only for the title!!
Whew. There. I know I listed the new books already in a previous post, but it is what it is. Have any of you read them? Thoughts? Comments?
Hey Chili!! Lookie here! I was a good girl and am back in the game!
