Tuesday—10 things

it’s been awhile since I’ve participated in Ten Things Tuesday…We’ll give it a try this morning and see how we roll out. As I’m coming to the close of the play, (only three more performances) I’m looking at the things I want to get accomplished this spring. I’m betting there’s ten of them…

1) The Yard. Much ado about the yard. But the plan is to first get it leveled. Get it leveled either by another visit by my dad, or some other way. There have also been offers to get me sod…this is pleasing.

2.) The Garden. I think I’ve found the spot. I had already decided on a raised bed before I was told that’s the ONLY WAY ANYTHING WOULD GROW BACK THERE…eyeroll. So, I need to get the materials for that.

3.) The Garage. It’s not in bad shape, I can park my car in it. But there is wasted space in there and a good day of cleaning and organizing would do a world of good.

4.) The Little Building. That is in GREAT need for organization. it’s small, so shouldn’t take much time.

5.) Clean out closets. Thoroughly. I wanted to do this in the Fall but was forever sidetracked.

6.) Deep clean the carpets. . . rent a machine.

7.) Call around and find a spare tire for the car. I’ve been using mine for about 6 months.

8.) Take the car in for a small tune up. I don’t have the money for a great big one, but it’s at 45,000 and needs one, and with all the hullabaloo with the Toyotas these days…

9.) Let’s get back to the gym! Or get outside for some walking!!!

10) Get some guttering for the front of the house, so I can begin to make the flowerbed and start landscaping!!!

Yeah, I’ve got ten. Now, I just need SPRING to really get here. It looks like a great week with some colder temps this weekend…but it’s coming. I know it is!!!

Happy Tuesday, ya’ll. I love you and I love George Clooney.

And she sleeps…

WHEW!

That four show week worked me. For real. But we had great performances, many many thanks to all that came this week to support! I still love this show. I just do. Three more performances and then we take a final bow.

Sunday after the matinee I came home and collapsed just a bit before Chris and Cindy came over. We had an amazing meal. Fabulous conversation. Good family time while watching the Academy Awards…They left during the dance number and apparently I passed out shortly after. I woke up to the end credits and shuffled to the bed where I stayed until ELEVEN AM THIS MORNING.

Another 14 hour power nap! Whooooooweeeeeeee! It’s rainy and cloudy and there were kitties warming my feet and oh GLORY it was a day off. Love that. I’ve run my errands, and paid my plumber and had a nasty encounter with a checker at the grocery store (which I promptly called in and reported) and now I’m doing laundry and laying on the couch and making plans to resurrect my back yard in the coming weeks!

Don’t be surprised if I fall asleep again. It’s seriously a possiblilty!

Hope your Monday is fabulous…

Pomp and Circumstance

GERTRUDE GRADUATES TODAY!!!

She had completed her tour at Le Cordon Bleu and our girl is heading back across the boarder tomorrow. Back to family. Back to love. Back to home. I am more excited than I thought possible…I have missed her. To the bone marrow missed her this past year. and I am more proud of her than she’ll ever know!

Huzzuah and Hakalakeem! All Hail Chef Gert!!!

The Big Chill

God Bless Facebook.

I’ve said it before. Some may roll their eyes, some may despise the social networking site just for the very reasons that I love it.

A blast from my Michigan past came knocking yesterday. And all of a sudden, seriously, the pieces fit together easier. We began talking, all of us, on each other’s wall, bringing up “do you remember’s” and laughing and typing as fast as our fingers would let us. Another piece of the puzzle…

My mind whirrled all night long, so I’m tired today. I think I went back to Eddy St for the night…and it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Talks of another reunion came up. another Big Chill Weekend! It’s so complicated, but we can make it happen I just know we can. We may talk all year long and plan it for next year, but hey. . . it’ll happen.

Today, the sun is shining, the temps in the 60s, I am praying the plummer is digging today…it’s starting to wear me out this no laundry thing…

Tonight we begin our four show run. Thursday night shows are two for one prices so hopefully we will have an audience….

I’m off to get more coffee and clear the foggy brain. Have a fabulous Thursday kids. Life is good. it just is.

Just Keep Swimming Just Keep Swimming Just Keep Swimming

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Dori.

It’s a brand new day, the sun is shining and the birds are singing. The forecast is in the mid to high 50’s low 60’s all week. Thankful isn’t even close to what I feel.

I took a tylenolpm last night and got some real sleep. It’s amazing what that will do for your mental health. I’m gulping coffee and putting away laundry and about to run the dyson on the carpets. Trying to spruce up the house for the weekend.

I have to tell you my most favorite thing about today though.

Chris and Cindy and I joined a local organic co-op! We get our first delivery on the 15th. I asked them to join with me because I feel like the delivery will be too much for one person. We’ll see how it goes! The delivery is all organic, and we will save money off of our grocery bill, PLUS we won’t have to shop for it! i love that part. just give me the food and I’ll eat it! This is a pic of one of the previous deliveries :

Yay for all of this!

Ok. Happy Humping Day. GERT ONLY HAS A FEW DAYS LEFT!!! Just keep swimming sister! Just keep swimming.

Bleargh…pfffffft.

I was kind of busy today, which was good. I got my bills paid online, and feel pretty decent Life-Wise…then things just went kaflooey.

I had made plans to have facetime with LT, since we are woefully remiss in that area. But when I realized I was having company this weekend…well that kind of put the halt on it. Tonight and tomorrow are my only free nights to get stuff done…so I hated to cancel that but I had to.

I came home between clients and gathered laundry. Dad is coming to see the show this weekend and I had to have clean towels etc for that visit. I could have probably pieced together a week’s worth of clothes/socks/panties/wash clothes/towels for myself but not for guests too. SO. I gathered laundry and loaded my car. I then rushed by the bookshop to pick up my copy of Crazy Love. When I made plans with LT I had forgotten about bible study on Tuesday nights. I was talking to the girls about the chapters we were reading and looking at the dvd’s on tonight and really wanted to make it. I figured if I hurried out of work by 5:45, went right to the place, loaded everything up I could feasably be there by 7pm.

yeah. That didn’t work so much. I finally just gave up the thought of making the meeting. Got my laundry done (via a visit from Factorygirl YAY!) and got home. Feels good for it to be all clean. I had no idea I owned that many pairs of undies! Weeeeee!

Got my mail, and what did I find?

JURY DUTY SUMMONS FOR DISTRICT COURT.

Yeah, my last summons was for Federal Court. Pffffffft. March 22nd. Hopefully I won’t get picked to serve…I just don’t want to lose that week worth of clients…SO. Crossing fingers.

I’m about to get out the vaccume and put away laundry. I’m worn out from not sleeping well last night…I’m a little cranky.

Saving grace? I’m excited about the premier of Parenthood.

that is all.

Birthday Partaaaaay

It’s Pseudo Sis 2’s birthday today! We celebrated a little Saturday night.

And will do so again on a Sunday night in June, under the stars watching these guys.

She is the example of what I want to be when I grow up. She’s got her proverbial stuff together, and makes it look easy. We can all take a note out of her book of “HOW TO MANAGE A SALON FULL OF WOMEN WITHOUT KICKING ANYONE IN THE CROTCH”

She has a few loves in her life such as…and….

and…But most of all, above all else…she loves these guys…

and of course, this one…

There’s never a dull moment in this family, and I’ve been lucky enough to be included in many of them!

Happy Birthday Sister! Here’s to another fabulous year!

Full to the Brim

What a great weekend this was/is. Well, it wasn’t without it’s one share of wankery, but hey. Variety is the spice, yes?

Friday nights performance was full of friends. Delbert and Christy and McCracken, M’Lynn and Barb, Kris and Shawn…all there to witness an absolute meltdown during scene two that seemed to set the stage for the entire show. We had a misstep, that turned into something akin to armageddon. There was broken coaster glass on the floor and bits and pieces of what should have been a fabulous scene…Ah well. We rallied and the audience, though they were small and quiet, did laugh and stick with us. I hate that there were TWO reviewers in the audience…It was painful. I was devistated because it’s just that good of a show…

Saturday night? we knocked it out of the ballpark. It was an amazing show. Hawk and Ringo and Company were present. Janet and Mitch were there…we even had repeat customers there for a second viewing. It was an amazing show. It made me very happy. We met the PseudoSisters and Company out to celebrate Maegen’s birthday. There was a nice mix of us, and we sat around and laughed and toasted birthdays and it was good.

Sunday was sleep in day, and boy did I. Met M’Lynn at Mama Roja’s for her birthday brunch. Oh my we ate and laughed and ate. It’s been eons since I’ve had any facetime with her and it just made my heart swell to sit across the table and visit and laugh. I’ve missed it.

Came home and instead of going to play selection committee I sent my picks and thoughts via email and promptly fell back asleep. I woke up around 6:30…it was getting dark and thought, well. There goes THAT day. I went and got some dinner and then fell asleep again watching the Closing Ceremonies. At 11, I finally gave up the ghost and just went to the bed. Jeez. I’m like Rip Van Winkle these days…just sleep sleep sleep.

Today, it’s chores day. I need to find a laundrymat and do a load or two, till my pipes get fixed. Hopefully this week. Heading out to get my paycheck and deposit it now, pay some bills, then back to pick up the house a bit…

I’ve been blessed with lots of facetime and friends this weekend. I’ve been blessed with stagetime and fulfilling performances. I have a paycheck that won’t suck because I worked my behind off last week, and I have so much more…I am full. To the brim with good stuffs.

Here’s todays NFTU:

Talk about magical rendezvous, Misti…

Right this very moment, on a distant farm, there basks a fig, a nut, or a berry, whose very life force will soon be your own. But that’s not all…

Right this very moment, there’s a gorgeous home on a splendid property with a spectacular view, whose roof will someday give you shelter. But that’s not all…

Right this very moment, there are beautiful souls on your beautiful planet, whom you do not even know, yet through your meanderings and theirs, paths will cross, love will be shared, and eternal friendships will be created. I’m still not done…

And nothing you do, or don’t do, can prevent these serendipities I’ve just shared, and so, so many more. Oh, Misti, you make me look so good… and not just the “basking nut” part.

Amen, hallelujah, rock me Amadeus –
The Universe
