Today is the day our fabulous MGirl turns another year fabulous. We’ve had a big big weekend already, but began celebrations last night with some ahi tuna, some comedy, and some drinks with friends after. The stroke of midnight brought lots of well wishes and maybe a few shots her way…(thank GOD it’s not me this time!!)

Today we journey to Bedlam. Big tailgating with lots of friends. I’ll be the lone OU red and white wearer, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to get my ass kicked but whatever…we’ll just see! the game itself doesn’t begin until seven, so we’re motoring back to the city for an actual party and watching in the controlled climate of Fox & the Hound. I’m drivin Miss Crazy today so she can just have happy happy joy joy to the tenth degree.

She has become an integral part of my life over these last few years. I am blessed to know her, and a better person for having her. She’s one of the smartest women I know. She’s frightened of fish but will put her fist through a wall for you if needed. She loves with a heart that is larger than her body and laughs with a force that is out of this universe.

MGirl…you are a gift. I am thankful. Have the best day ever!!! I’m going to do my part to see that it happens!!! Here’s you a little treat.

Right?

Whew. Have had a great visit with Mom and Bonusdad thus far, they got in yesterday afternoon and we traveled to the StepFamily Feast in BatShitCrazytown. Which, for all intents and purposes, was fine. There are about 24 or 25 adults and four hundred thousand children. Ca-ray-zee. I stayed, talked, ate, and left to meet MGirl at the bar for some decompression time.

Today is going to the salon with them to give fresh holiday hair, then a bit of shopping. I want to get some Christmas lights for next weekend’s decorating. They are heading back today and I’ll just putter around. Tonight is comedy and I’ve been looking forward to it forever!

Kids, I cannot tell you how busy I am today. I usually only work noon till 8 on a Wed. Today I’m booked. BOOK EM DANO solid from 9:30 until 8pm. I won’t know whether to scratch my watch or wind my butt. I calculated it up, and I’m doing well over 600 bucks today. Would that I got all of that, but hey. yesterday and today, I’m making all of if not more than I did all last week. Gah. Still short of making commission by about two cuts and colors, and yes, it’s my choice to take off work friday and saturday, but whattever. it’ll work out. Gah. Just want this day to be OVAH!!

Went down to Normantown last night to watch some stand up. Seth was with us, Whit was our gracious and talented MC. It was a really different crowd from the Monday’s Don’t Suck that I go to here in OKC. Much more difficult. and it was open mic, so lots of different ranges of talent. From the perfectly, horribly, ridiculously awful, to brilliant! my friends are funny. MGirl has been nudging me to think about doing it, but seriously? I think I’d rather give myself a hysterectomy.

But it was a late night, got to bed after 1am. And because I forgot, two days in a row to buy coffee, I’m drinking the LAST CUP. Leftover from yesterday. Treating it as if it were mother’s milk. Also last night, made a big crockpot full of chili. MGirl’s birthday is Saturday, so we’re bringing food for a potluck to work today. Everyone is pretty busy, so it’ll be nice to just be able to go to the back room and shove a little something in our mouths.

It’s here you guys….the beginning of the season… and I LOVE Thanksgiving. I think I may just say fuck it and cook and host an orphans day here next year. I really miss doing that. Tomorrow, the parade and dog show and Home for the Holidays with mimosas. Seeing family and friends. Oh…just excited!!

Here’s to you. I hope if you’re working, it’s your last day until next week. If you’re already off, take a moment to breathe through all the prep today. Don’t forget to run out and buy yourself a good bottle of wine, or champagne, or…a nicotine patch Clemo…and be ready for tomorrow!!!

Hope you all are doing well, one day into your short week. Gearing up for the festivities. I got a lot of my chores done and will finish them before company arrives. Last night, was spent on the phone with an old friend from high school. God bless Facebook! He’s going through a divorce, we talked about or sad stories just a little bit, but mostly just talked. for an hour and a half!!! good grief. I never talk on the phone like that!!!

anyways, it was nice.

Don’t have a whole lot to report this morning. got Kikimama on my lap here and it’s going to be a chore just to get up and get in the shower. Lap kitties are goooooooood.

first off, found out today that my Dad is having heart surgery next week. Blockage. Putting in a heart cath. gah. I feel like this is preventative and will be fine, but still. scary.

I got most everything on my list done today! Ta-Daaaaa!!! I still need to fold one last load of laundry, vaccume and just take a clean swipe over the countertops and the bathroom. All of which I’ll do after some rest this evening. I’ve got plans every night until Sunday, so it’s tonight or never! Tomorrow night I’m traveling to Norman to see my friends work on some standup material. Wednesday is the annual pre-turkey day happy hour after work with Gert, Joe, Queen B and ScottyRingo. Mom and Bonusdad are arriving sometime Thanksgiving day, we’ll have a meal with his family in Batshitcrazytown, then I’ll meet up with the tribe later that evening. Friday night Seth is guest hosting at the comedy club and we haven’t seen him since NYC trip in sept, and haven’t seen him onstage since before that this summer! Super excited for that.

Saturday is MGirl’s birthday!!!! and in this great state, it’s also known as Bedlam.
OU vs OSU. It’s at OSU this year, and yes, Mgirl is a fan. (I’m a crimson and creme girl myself) so we’ll motor up there for the big day of tailgaiting then motor back to OKC for a watch party and whatever else the girl wants. God knows she’s had my back this year on more than a million occasions!!!

Sunday, the Colts play at noon then I’m pretty sure I’m going to the bed!

AHHHHHH. life is good.

Thursday morning, it will be me, the cats, Home for the Holidays and mimosa’s. That’s just how I play that game. I hope your week is short and full of grace and things you are grateful for.

last night’s game was a bloodbath. it was between our brand new team…and our former adopted team, Nwe Orleans Hornets. People were cheering for both! It was a strange thing. But our team, babies though they are, sucks. Seriously. just practically handing the ball to the other team, dribbling on their feet, kicking the ball, missing free throws. gah. it was bad. the club level bar was full by halftime. I’m still a fan and a supporter, but last night I was kind of bitching about it and said to someone, I want a new coach.

Got up this morning and on the early news: OKC THUNDER COACH FIRED!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I have power beyond your comprehension. I’m going to hit the showers and see if I can’t make George Clooney manifest sometime today.

Going to my first Thunder game tonight! I’m well aware that we as a team…suck. But I don’t care. We’re new. It will be better someday! and tonight, I’m gonna cheer cheer cheer.
