It looks like Poop.

So the day was good. I’m tired, been watcing the SOX and having a few glasses of wine so am sleepy.

I did NOT go weigh in today. You guys, I just didn’t have it today. I was in a funky mood, the online dating thing is a lot of work and pissed me off this morning, and my car is a thousand miles overdue for an oil change so everytime I get in to drive to and from work I’m annoyed at myself for being a slacker and my “buddy” decided she wanted to go to Furrs Cafateria for lunch instead so I had no support to force the hand. PPFFFFFFFT.
Whatever. Next week.

Had some fun clients today. The elusive Pilot came back. Hadn’t seen him since the day before I left for NYC, so it was good to see him and get caught up. He always make smile. I hate that it takes only 30 minutes for a mens cut because I enjoy him. Last time I just cut the shit out of his hair so it’s been almost 8 weeks since I’ve seen him last. We’ve got to find a happy mediaum! hahaha. I told him the address to The Circus, so he may be reading. . . if so, welcome. pull up a chair. pour yourself a drink. enjoy.

the next client was a 5 year old pain in my ass. Now you know that I like kids. Genuinely. Years of children’s theatre and having that natural Pied Piper gene and I can find some good and humor in most of them. This one worked me. I liked him and he and I could talk some shit but the end result was met with this comment

it looks like poop from my butt.

huh.

it was all i could to to not tell the mother that she should have swollowed him.

The Sox are kicking and Kizz is FAMOUS!!!
the moon is gorgeous and full and I love geroge clooney.

The Dating Game

Ok. So I signed up for an online dating service. I signed up for another one that is quicker to match you, but I didn’t subscribe. . . thought I would be foolish to pay for another one before we see the results for the first one.

I get home yesterday and there are like 5 new matches on the first site. One guy closed me off before I even looked at him. FLOP. Another guy closed me as well. Upon further investigation, and mulling over the feelings of rejection and riduculousness I saw that they were quite right. The first one’s profile made me want to vomick. If he was being serious, I would have killed him on the first date. the second guy was an accountant who wanted a “thin” woman. “I know it’s shallow but she has to be thin” oooooookaaaaaay.

anyways there are about three or four more that I was looking at last night. One had really nice things to say about his grandparents which I liked. It’s pretty time consuming this online thing. If I was in front of a computer all day, it may be easier, but I doubt it.

The other site, the one I didn’t pay for, sent me an email with 12 guys on it today. One was really good on paper. I winked at him.

Frankly, faithful readers, I’m almost tired of it already. It’s a lot of time and effort!! Am I lazy? Does this mean I’m not really wanting to meet new men? Huh. i dunno.

Keep my fam in your prayers. they live in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego. Burning. I lost her number when I lost my phone last week, my dad doesn’t have it either. (great brother, eh?) so I’m going to track her down today and find out what’s up.

I weigh in today as well. I don’t want to. Seriously. I have done zero activity except for chasing my tail this week. what’s that you say? But i did the 3.2 miles on Saturday for the RFTC? well to that I say I drank about 3.2 million beers on Saturday night so there. Also ate pizza all day on Sunday, and ate everything but the catfood on Monday. ugh. bleagh. gagh.

Oh yeah, the Pilot is coming in today. Homina Homina Homina. Details on that later!!

Huzuah and Happy Birthday to MamaLamb!

AND I LOVE GEORGE CLOONEY.

Relaxation 101

For the first weekend in I can’t remember when, I’ve done NOTHING!! Today, it was cold, rainy, windy, all in all just nasty…a fantastic day to stay in. I made a big pot of Santa Fe Soup, and a pan of cornbread for dinner. We have had a fire in the fireplace all day long. I finally took a shower around 5:30 and immediately put on my fleece jams. The cats have napped all day. I can relax, fully relax, almost never. So this weekend, doing really nothing, guilt free, was no small feat

I had two grand surprises today. The UPS guy rang the doorbell and left me a box. Huh? I didn’t order anything! I ripped it open and saw that it was from Rog, who probably is my real dad. (right behind Joseph Campbell) I got a set of glorious butter cream colored 400 thread count sheets as an early birthday pressie. HUZZUAH!!!! They are on my bed, freshly washed, just waiting on me!! Thank you my friend. A Thousand Thank You’s!!!

The second was found on my dating site. Two “matches”. Huh. I was not impressed with either at first sight. But, after some more thought I sent my first sent of communication to both of them. What the hell, eh? Will keep you updated.

So that was my day. We are watching Dancing with the Stars and Marie Osmond just took a header. Passed smooth out. You’ll see it all over the tv tomorrow, to be sure. Have a great night!

Happy Birthday Chrome!!

It’s the Shiny Girl’s birthday today ya’ll! Go on over and give her a big fat Huzzuah!!! Hopefully she’s got better weather than I do here, and that the taxi cab strike isn’t totally jacking up her birthday.

My dear, have a great day! You are amazing and beautiful and all things bright and glorious. Embrace it and know that you are loved, not just today but everyday!
Here’s a little cyber party for you today.

A Brand New Week

It’s cold here. REALLY cold and wet and foggy…and I’m off work!!! I know most of you are starting your week, but I cannot tell you how happy I am to have this day off. The weekend almost, ALMOST killed me, so it’s a good day to recoup.

The show is over. It was fine. Saturday night’s audience was considerably smaller than the night before, but they were much more fun and engaged. My peeps were there, so a big Luna Del Mar Thank You to them for sticking it out with me. The after party was fun and I was so ready for a drink!! We gathered downstairs in the bar of the Elks Lodge and snacked gathered as a cast. They all skedaaddled pretty early and then we went to another El Ghetto bar, American Legion where there was a large birthday gathering. My director’s husband’s band was playing the party. It was fine. There was one fella that EVERYONE kept trying to set me up with…and everyone said the same thing about him. “he’s a great guy” and variations on the same phrase. I think people were doing the same thing to him about me. We talked a bit here and there, nice guy, funny. I doubt I see him again but it was fun for the night to have someone to flirt with!

I didn’t get out of the bed until noon yesterday and only to drive into town for hangover food. Nothing delivers on the Frontier! I couched it till about 5 then got up and started moving around, laundry, picking up the kitchen. BonusMom returned last night and it was great to have her back. She’s still getting settled in, but seems to be doing ok. Rough week for her and her family.

For those of you reading past posts, you know I’ve been tossing the idea of online dating around. Purely as a social experiment, to try to meet some new people. Well, I did it last night. Signed up. Paid for only a month, so we’ll see! I will surely keep you posted!

Kizz is joyful today, her beloved RED SOX are going to the Dance!! Be very aware that she is a New Yorker tried and true, and she cheers for the Sox with as much energy as a kid hopped up on the Halloween candy! So to her I say Huzzuah! She never stopped believing, has no patience or time for any of you who did, and is probably exhausted today from last nights game. I haven’t stopped by her blog today, but am heading there now to say Huzzuah!

There are a few things I want to do today, one being getting my oil changed in Bella and I seriously want to see my boyfriend’s new movie. We’ll see what happens. Right now, it’s a fresh cup of java, which I’m cheers-ing you with. Huzzuah and Happy Monday and I love George Clooney.

Radio TBS and RFTC

Opened the show last night. It was a nice group…dinner got started late ergo we got started late and the first half is unforgivingly long so we lost some people at intermission but whatever. Unwound with a few beers after it was over, got home around 1am and up at the crack of it today for the Race For The Cure. It was different. BonusMom was still in Nebraska with her fam, many of our regulars were unable to walk. Gert and Che joined for the first time and we were late getting there, parking was a bitch so we didn’t get to hook up with Cook and Company, but all in all it was a great morning. We scooted over to LaBaguette for brunch and bloody marys to celebrate our finish time of a little over an hour and my oh my was it good!!! I had smoked salmon eggs benedict and it did me right. Stopped at two places on the way home to gather gifts for our director tonight then home and in the bed. All day long. I don’t know if I ever slept or not, but I rolled out of it about an hour ago to do some laundry and eat a snack before tonights show.

I’m out for now. More updates later after I recover from tonights cast party and twist off. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

DuranDuran and a side of Ortho Novum please

A Portland ME middle school voted last night 10-2 in favor of giving birth control patches and pills to students. The parents of these 6th and 7th grade students would NOT be told about it. There were droves of parents at the school board meeting last night bantering the cons, mostly.

I’m amazed. 6th GRADE???? On the pill? Now, my mom took me for my first gyno/pill appointment so I didn’t have to do the whole secrecy thing. I’d be that kind of parent, putting the information and education into my kids head. I don’t know how I feel about someone else chucking a handful of pills to my kid without my slightest knowledge. Don’t get me wrong. I think that kids are going to have the sex. regardless. I think that the schools are lacking in education and even more so, parents. (one of my soap boxes is the thought that schools are supposed to raise children, to be not only their academic, but moral compass solely without any parental help) So I do agree that children need the knowledge and possibly the medication to protect themselves when they will inevitable make the decision. . . but DAMN! 6th grade??? How old are middle school kids?

I’m at a disadvantage here. No kids. It’s easy for me to rail about it without anything to base it on. So I ask you. Kids or no kids, what do you think? I don’t know…when I was in the 6th and 7th grades I was more obsessed with trying to get my mom to buy me a real Izod shirt, a real Swatch watch and figuring out how John Taylor, bass player from Duran Duran was going to meet me, fall in love and marry me by Sr Prom.

Match This

I asked for some info or insight on the Internet dating thing. Some good feedback. Some interested, some not interested. Some of you have emailed me and given insight. Very coolio.

While we’re all putting our own spin on it and that’s totally cool, I want to clarify my intentions for this prospective experiment, because after stating my intentions, this may not be the best route…you tell me.

I’m not thinking about this to find THE ONE. (we all know I don’t believe there’s only one) and I’m not desperate to find the NEXT ONE either. I can buy my own beer and snack cakes,I’m not disenchanted with men or with relationships nor am I “desperate” to find one. There is an air of “desperation” sometimes linked to the Internet thing and frankly I don’t get it…I’m just really at a loss right now in my life as to where to meet some new guys. I’ve only done the bar thing. or the post bar, drunk thing. or the sleep with the co worker thing and call it a relationship. Alas…George is the only one true and fine in my life and until he shows up on the Frontier with a box of blush and a hammock….I’m just saying.

most of the comments and emails are encouraging with stories ending with rings and wedding bells. See, while I don’t feel any urge for that kind of commitment in my life, I still see it in my future. Are the only people on these sites looking for The One? or like a previous experience are they just looking for someone to swing and do the sex thing? I’m not really interested in either. Is it one extreme or the other? I don’t know. Further investigation is required.

Keep the comments and info coming. If I survive this effing show and have any brain cells left, I might delve next week.

Sidebar:

BonusMom’s Dad’s funeral is tomorrow. Keep her close.
I weighed in today, wearing jeans and had lost point two. rock on.
for supper I ate the last of the lite pimento cheese spread as a dip with nacho cheese doritos.
am having one glass of white wine right now and am heading to the bed. The fresh bed that I bought this week. I’ve asked from my fam for some super good bedding for my bday. Channeling Miranda in the episode where she buys great sheets to make her love her bed since she’s spending all of her time in it alone. So, anyway I’m excited about that.

my tummy hurts for the wine and from the nacho cheese dorito/lite pimento cheese dinner. say it with me. . . BLEAGH. GARK. HEAGH. BWAGH.

night all.

And another thing!

I forgot to tell you i bought a bed!!! Queen mattress set and bed frame and delivery and the sweet high school boy who helped me and Che dismantle the daybed thing I was sleeping on all for less than 500 bucks!

I’m on my way to grown-up-ville.

Fresh Mattress. . . methinks that should DEFINITELY go on the eHarmony questionnaire!

Barkin, Birthdays and Bull**it

“And I’m very good and was always very good with getting older. It was always a
big thing for me. Like, great, now I’m 30, great. Now I’m 40, great. Now I’m 50,
great. You know, aging always made me feel more substantial, as if I had more to
offer other people and was more open.” –Ellen Barkin

Since we’re all getting older around the same time, (Chrome you and Mamalamb are next!)I thought this was appropriate. I’m a big birthday person. I love my birthday. I love it like I love New Years Day. For me it’s a time of contemplation and cleaning the slate. The Ultimate Do-Over We all do it differently and that is fine and dandy. I found this quote and thought it was a good one for how I feel. She’s freakin awesome anyway, right?

BonusMom is in Nebraska, the service is tomorrow. We are under a tornado watch until 4 today. wahoo. Spring weather in october. huh. I weigh in today. Eh. a little ambivlient about it right now. Did pretty good foodwise, still haven’t done much exercixing. Same story different verse. bla bla bla fishcakes.

I’ve already cleaned up some cat vomick and oh look! a hairball. good grief. My life is an ad for the crazy parade.

here’s another little thought I’ll put out there…some friends of mine, including myself, are pondering doing the eHaromney thing…wanting to meet someone(s) new and not really having a clue as to where and how to do it. I know the eHarm is about 50 bucks a month, but I like their commercials. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas or comments or experience (yours or a friends) that you’d like to share? If you don’t want to post a comment, we can email for more privacy. I am really thinking about doing this and would in the pest possible scenario like to avoid picking or getting matched to the neighborhood pedophile. wha wha whaaaaaaaaa.

Just saw a trailer for Martian Child starring our collective boyfriend John Cusack and his delicious sister Joan. My oh my. it had me at hello. I haven’t heard of this so will have to research and soooooo put it at the top of my list!

Ok faithful readers, that’s it for me. I have to gather props, hit the showers, make a stop by the grocery for more catfood (that they will immediatly give back) and coffee and get to work. It’s a semi slow day but I do have some appointments and with dress/tech tonight and tomorrow, I’m not working full hours for the rest of the week. I’ll be in and out with updates that I’m sure you’re waiting breathlessly for. Until then, Huzzuah and Happy Wednesday! Let’s not forget,

I love George Clooney.
