obsession

So. As mentioned in the previous post…MGirl has gotten me sucked into the saga that is Twilight. The books (three of them currently) are young adult I believe. Vampires. Warewolves. Kind a Seventeen version of Anita Blake, if you will. Anyways, I started the first one on Saturday morning at work. I started the third one midmorning today. I’m about to leave you with this patheticly small post and go to bed and sink into it again. There is a movie in pre production starting in 08 which means we may be slurping it up in 09. The actor playing the lucious Edward is this fella. You may recognize him from the Harry Potters. Cedric Diggory. Diggalicious is what I say!
I got all of my Christmas shopping finished tonight. Skimpy this year. One present each. No friend gifts. No work stuff. maybe that’s why I’m sad too…the first year of Christmas shopping with only one income and for decidedly less people. No kids to shop for.
bah.
Humbug.
I’m fine. I will be fine. I’m going to read. love ya.

  1. Oh man I read Twilight recently and LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! I haven’t read the others because I felt like it was too decadent to buy them in hard back so I’m waiting for the paperback. I am a freak. He’s a passable Edward, I can see that.

  3. Huh, I guess she’ll be OK. She wouldn’t be what I’d have chosen for the role. I think I’d have chosen Alexis Bledel, but only the Alexis Bledel she was before she did 7 seasons of GG and figured out what acting was and that she couldn’t do it. Is there someone else around like that? You’d think with all the teen focused dramas I watch I’d know. I can’t wait to see who’s playing Edward’s family. Those girls are the girls I want to be cast as. You know, when I find my time machine and am not 20 years older than the age they’re supposed to play.

  4. Vampires… I am on it. I need to read. I feel the need, the need to read. Christmas, I know. I have not one gift for my own child yet. Not one. And usually I have them stacked back in October. It just is what it is right? We have face time and each other and the Bin and long road trips with Dr. Bubba and a whole mess of things coming this next year. Chrome is coming and we need to drag the Chicago Mafia Princess down from his tower. We’ll take a trip. Go see Kizz. “We’ll buy um if we have too.” This too will be fine. Look forward my friend, there is so so much to see yet.

  7. I’m totally HOOKED on Stephanie Meyers Twilight series. Mind you I am not a teen but 30 rs old and I truly adore the books. I got hem as a Christmas gift and I’m in love. I have fallen back deeply in adoration with vampires. After my Anne Rice stint eons ago (94) lol, I was looking for something new in that genre and I have found it. Her other book THe Host sounds pretty interesting too, more scifi than vamp. The movie is slated for a 12/12/08 release along with the release of ‘Breaking Dawn’ the 4th part to the series.

  8. I’m not exactly sold on the case so far, but I really do like Robert P. as Edward. So many ppl wanted Gaspard Ulliel, and IMO he was all kinds of wrong. No my cup of tea, but I believe it will be kinda like Interview with the Vampire. No one thought Tom Cruise could pull it off but Anne R. loved him as Lestat and he wasn’t too shabby. I quickly learned to like him as Lestat and can’t think of anyone else that could have been him. Now on to Ms. Swan (All I can think of is Mad TV when I hear that, LOL), she isn’t exactly what I pictured either but IMO ofcourse I was never into Emily Browning playing her either. I think of her as fae or witch but not possible vamp. Too baby face and her features didn’t fit, for me a least. Even though Kristen S. doesn’t fall in to that category for me, she does have a certain quality…a je ne sais quoi, to her method of acting. She’s quite good for a teen considering what’s out there nowadays.
