Lent

Enjoyed a Fat Tuesday yesterday with crawfish, corn, taters and spicy sausage! MMMM MMM good! today is the first day of Lent. I’m giving up soda and committing to at least 15 minutes a day of meditations/prayer/solace. As well as bulimia, marriage and world peace. I’m giving that up as well.

Speaking of marriage, man I had a crazy dream last night. I dreamed I got back together with my ex-husband. seriously. it was all very detailed and crazed. we got re-married.

cue vomit.

but it felt good…in the dream…it felt right and fine. and I think that stems from conversations with Joe and MGirl last night about letting go of some stuff, and how when one really truthfully does that, how good it feels.

Giving up, letting go…tis the season.
have you given anything up, or let go of anything lately?

  1. I like the fact that you’re committing to something positive for the 40 days, instead of just cutting things out. Anything I can do to help, just let me know!

  2. I love your idea of commiting to something for 40 days. That has a way more positive spin. I’m pretty sure that I’m in a place where I would be able to give up one thing and it wouldn’t be too much of a challenge. Oh, wait. Coffee would be hard. Anything else I’d be alright with. And that’s the idea, right. That you give up something that would be difficult to give up. hmmm.I ain’t doing it.I will commit to something that is equally as hard. I will take a vitamin every day for the next 40 days. Why is that always so hard?

  3. S’why I love you both!. yes. the idea is to commit to something hard. Coffee…gah…i know. i know. the meditation/prayer time is hard enough. I did a little bit this morning then jumped on the machine. It’s going to be in the 70’s here, but I’m inside all day and night for rehearsal so am going to walk around my neighborhood and use that time for today. Vitamins are pretty easy for me once i get into the habit of it. ihave the super girl kind from GNC that makes your pee look like a day glow shirt from the 80’s.
