Adjusted.

New Roof!

New Paint for the siding and window sills!

New roof for the little shed!

All good news. They cut me a check for almost 200.00 personally to cover the new landscape lights, a new umbrella for the patio furniture. Perhaps a new flamingo…or the $ will go into the pergola fund. I’m still delving through it. I’ve got a roofer. It’s a local company, been around for 30 years. I know the son from back in my bar days, and he and I remain close friends, so I trust. That’s the important thing. I trust them. Plus, they’ve got so much $ going out, waiting for banks to return the insurance checks…(did you know that the big check is made out to me and my mortgage company? I can have mine endorsed locally at my branch. Some banks, you have to send the check in and wait for them to send you the money back) Anyways, I’ll be able to fund the roofer asap, which will be in my favor.

I am going to make some calls re: a painter as well.

The good thing about this is the adjuster gives you an itemized list of what they’re paying for and how much with little subtotals at the end of each section. So I know what I have to spend on Roof. Shed Roof. Paint. that’s nice. If the contractor finds that it’s not enough, we call the adjuster again. But I don’t forsee that happening.

This is all good news. I’ve learned a few things about the process and feel good about what I will be able to get done on the house. Any money that’s “left over” will build the pergola! Wheeee! Or pay bills. We’ll just see how it works out.

In other news, my garden is just kind of stuck. Tomatos are just stuck. Not growing. Not blooming. Nothing else is doing much…I’ve given it the super duper food that BonusMom bought me…I just don’t know if the weather has been hot enough? or if it’s something else…I will just keep watering and loving and we’ll see!

I’ve been reading again. Lots and lots. Nora Roberts (my guilty pleasure) Harlen Coben. I found a new series about Irish History and may start that. I picked up some Michner…historical fiction is one of my faves. There are lots of new titles to read this summer and at this rate, I’ll get to them!

Work has been a little slow this past week…last pay period sucked but thank GOD I have the bartending gig. I’ve been able to really throw money towards big bills and am now starting from scratch on the nest egg again, but at least I can do it!!!

Ok…I’m getting more coffee and going to throw in a load of laundry. I’ve been trying to do all my weekend chores during the week. (I did NOTHING last weekend) So that I can be lazy by the pool and catch a movie without guilt this next weekend. Have a great Thursday people! You Normals…you’re almost there!!!

  1. Hey, don’t throw that flamingo away. If you’re going to get rid of it, I want it. Save it for me. Bwahahahaha! Oh, you’ll see. You’ll all see. Bwahahahahaha!
