I had a great one, did you? Saw tons of friends, went to Paseo, drank some cold beer, ate hotdogs and hamburgers and the best dips in the world. Made delicious jalapeno creme cheese deviled eggs. Slept late. Mowed my yard. Planted flowers. Decorated my backyard. Laundry. Dyson. Battlestar Galactica. Tv. Naps. Nachos and tons of laughter! here’s a few pics of Paseo and of the weekend. Sunshine and mental health days are my favorite! I can’t believe I still have all of today AND tomorrow!!! It’s been a fun packed weekend thus far. I hope yours has been great, not stressfull, just easy like…heh…Sunday Morning.

I’m sitting here with my first cuppa joe, I’ve already been to the grocery store and made my black eye pea salsa and boiling the eggs to become my Deviled Egg of the Day for tonight’s party at PSister2’s house. I really need better names for my PseudoSisters. Anyways, so now I’m having a break and then tackling yardwork.

Yesterday I went to Lowes and gave them 120.00 GAH! I needed a new hose (dont we all.) a new sprinkler, some gardening gloves, potting soil, plants, weed and feed for the yard, a thing to spread said weed and feed, oil for my tiki torches, mulch…bleah. I think I got a lot for that amount but sheesh. Today I’m tackling the yards. Mow first, then water, then weed and feed. then going to work a flower bed or two. I really need Bonusmom to come over and have a lookie loo at what I should plant where in my front yard…so not really going to delve into that one too much. Mostly pots and hanging pretty.

What’s been going on in your life? Are you having a great weekend? I hope so. It’s the kickoff to summer. This one will be fabulous! We’re talking about a river trip…Floating the river is one of my favorite things in the history of ever! I look back to last year, first summer in my house, and while I was really really social, there were some brown spots that popped up with friends that made things…strange. This year, those people are not in my life, I choose not to participate in their drama, and this summer will be better than the last! Halakaleem!!!

Time for a warm up. and some motivation to go outside and act like a homeowner…

I almost feel like a Normal today. We get tomorrow off. A REAL WEEKEND! A REAL HOLIDAY WEEKEND! and I leave at 3 today. One of my girls from work and I are heading out to a patio by the lake for some sun and chill time.

I don’t really have anything new to report. I’ve finished the second book of the Big Stone Gap trilogy and am on to the last one. They are delightful, as reported by Gert. I’m passing them on to my reading partner at work, LT. She and I devour pretty much any and everything at the same rate. She’s also loving them.

What are your plans for the weekend? I feel like I’m going to be pretty social, (news to anyone? yeah. didn’t think so) But I’m going to try to balance that with some housework/landscaping time. I’d like to chop some more stuff down, hang more lights, plant some pretty…and since I have an extra day to do it…who knows what I will accomplish!

The last two weeks I’ve been very very worried about my job. About money. About surviving. I’ve been giving serious thought to finding a part time job at night, maybe cleaning offices or some such. Just to get ahead with savings. And frankly, I still might try to do that. Find a bartending gig on the weekends. Find something a few nights a week. SOMETHING.

However, hair banging has picked up this week and my future weeks are prebooked quite nicely. I think these last two weeks were the last of the fall out of being in a play. Missing work. Cutting hours. Not prebooking. Not having openings. It takes a toll. Today, if everyone shows, I’m pretty busy. It’s another long long one. 11 or 12 hours…come on money. I’m saving tips for graduation presents. I have a cousin that’s graduating and must get her money/card in the mail this weekend!

The weekend has shaped up thusly. I am not hosting any kind of cookout. Seems that everyone was wanting to do one, everyone was going here or there. My brain just got too fuzzy. Sunday night we’re going to PseudoSister2’s house. Just going to combine a random group of peeps. Hopefully Gert, Joe, will come. Elephantsoap and Numskullery are welcome too! I think the Ringo’s are doing their own thing so will stop by over there for a bit. Saturday, I am a gonna plant some stuff in my yard, dangit. That afternoon/evening we’re going to Paseo Arts Fest. It’s my favorite weekend festival. Lots of people watching. Hippies and dogs. Murph’s dad is playing that night so we’ll get to see that! wahoo!!!

For A Good Time Theatre Company (aka Michigan (SPIT)) is holding a reunion in November in Wisconsin. I’m so there! Cannot wait! Going to save save save and fly to Chicago and drive over with Dionysas. This is the weekend before my birthday on Tuesday so it’ll count as my party! I haven’t seen some of these people in ten years. Oh Lord, but I’m giddy with anticipation! So if anyone hears of cheap flights out of OKC, forward it to me!

I finished Dexter last night. And a few days ago, I added Showtime to my cable just so I could watch the new season On Demand. Well. The first half of the season’s episodes went away last night during my viewing of the finale of season two. Crapstick. My friend has them DVR’d so I can go over to his house this weekend and watch them…but DANGITRUDY!!! Well thought out plans.

Work was good yesterday. This morning we have class till noon, then work till 8. I had two appointments as of yesterday afternoon, but possibly room for more call ins today. Since I’m there late, that could happen.

Busy making weekend plans…was going to try to do a cookout but it seems everyone has the same idea. may just scrap mine and head to yukon/mustang for a few this weekend. or have a smaller one saturday night…i dunno now. Lot’s of options. I DO know I’m looking forward to a long weekend. So excited our salon is closed Saturday. Sad to not have that on my next paycheck but not sad enough, ya know?

Ok. one more cuppa then getting ready for the schoolin’ Think it’s product knowledge class today. wee.

Whew it was a busy one folks!

Saturday night’s reunion meeting was a success. September 18-19th is our weekend. We’re going to a home football game, it’s actually Homecoming, too. Then family day or some sort at a park. I’m not so interested in this but will go look at everyones kids. Saturday night party with music and food at the Elks and lots of fun. I’m excited about it actually. Gotta remember to block out at work today!

Sunday was a nice nice nice PERFECT weather day here. Got breakfast with Gert. Just one on one time, which we both needed. My friend gave me his lawnmower. Yes. Not like pinkslips gave me, but it is now living at my house for me to use anytime I want. We went and picked it up and he actually mowed front and back yards. I weed eated…weed ate…whatever. I reassembled the gazebo. I strung lights. I moved a shit ton of firewood from one stack to another a bit at a time…I felt accomplished. Went up and had a beer with the group after sneaking in a few eps of Dexter.

Yesterday, I slept in, ran errands and had a spontaneous cookout party at my house last night. Mgirl, Dish, Smurf, Trey, Barron and Jill came over. Dish grilled for us, we had Brats, dear steaks, chicken breast, hot links, baked beans, roasted potatos, grilled corn on the cob, macaroni salad, chips and dip, cold beers…MY GOD we made a meal and a party at the last minute! Then we played girls vs. boys in Scene It and we won! But we didn’t start till after 10 so by the time the game was over I was SO DONE. yawn. Slept so freakin good last night.

Looking forward to the short week. I have some appointments today, I know. I’m off at 3ish on Friday. Trying to get a group together to hit the War Bar in Batshitcrazytown that night…tossing around an idea for a cookout on sunday night. However, my friend from work is having one too, so may just gather here Saturday and go to hers on Sunday. Lots of options!

Seth and Abbylicious are arriving soon as well. So…it should be a damned fine week.

HEY WAIT! I forgot the best part of the weekend. So last night we’re sitting around out back and my phone rings and I look at this funky crazy ass number that came up. I answered it becaue I just kind of KNEW…It was The Future! His internet is still down and he said he was going through old emails and was missing talking to me. We talked maybe ten minutes, not long because of his phone and my guests but STILL!!!! It was nice to hear his voice for the firs time. heh heh heh.

Anyone heard 500 Miles To Memphis? Go. Listen. They’re awesome. I downloaded it last night and we listened all night long! Also, Turnpike Trubadours. So GOOD!

Woo Hooo!!! Weekend!!!

Tonight I’m going to the theatre to see the opening of Clean House, with Collin and a few others from my show. It’s opening night and there is a party after so that should be fun and social. Work tomorrow looks promising and tomorrow night is high school reunion gathering to plan and make plans and be social. Should be an all out gathering of people and fun!

i made coffee today with yesterdays grounds and a teensy bit of fresh ones. Come on payday. and really, it tastes of hot dirty water…but I’m drinkin it. Yesterday at work was good. I had a haircut that turned into a 175 dollar perm and a haircut (two bits!) and the day just motored on right up till 7! So that felt good. I’m tired! Hopefully today will bring more and tomorrow is payday. Ive had to slip money over from savings more than once this month already. GAK. It’s scary. I know everyone is scared…bleargh.

So. I got Dexter season two and am delving into it. I have a friend that works at the cable company and he hooked me up SHOWTIME for 7 bucks…a girl at work and I are going to split the cost and the entire season three is on ONDEMAND. Next Friday, we get off early for the holiday weekend so we’re driving right to my house with cocktails and provisions and sitting our asses on the couch and watching as much as our brains can hold.

I love a new obsession. I really do. I do it well. Remember RENT, anyone???

HEY! I heard from The Future this morning! He’s been off the grid with a internet connection problem at his house so I haven’t had any communication. Well, I have been writing down conversations and just sending. He emailed me this morning from his work. short. to the point. internet at home next week. Halakaleem! Nice those surprises in the inbox…(that’s what we ALL said)

So I stayed up kinda late watching Dexter last night. Yeah. We knew that was gonna happen. Plus the tornado sirens went off. Twice. and both times the activity was in the south part of the city, so it was a total Gulp! Wha? Whew. moment…Finally I just posted on the facebook for someone to call me if I needed to take shelter, I was turning the dvd back on!

anyways. I’m sleepy today. made up for the lack of sleep night before last…I just need some really good sleep. I feel like I need to go see McCracken and get a massage and then take a muscle relaxer and THEN go to sleep. Perfect date anyone? Just me? ok. fine with that.

Mom’s house got struck by lightening during the crazy storms. Blew out ALL of their televisions. (they have a few) their vcr/dvd players, the modem for the computer, all other electric devices. Their deductible is a thousand bucks, but to replace all of that it’s gonna cost more so hopefully it’ll be worth it to file a claim and get it replaced. MY deductible is about 980 or some such. I pay a higher premium just so I can get a deductible that I could possibly come up with in an emergency. POSSIBLY being the operative word. Last nights storms brought some hail. Not much but enough that I will need to look and call my insurance girl…gak.

Numskullery asked what book I started yesterday. It’s this one.

I’m not very far into it but I have the two books that come after that in the series so I thought I’d give it a try…may not be where my brain is though. We’ll see.

Ok kids, I must to the working. Hopefully today brings great opportunity and surprises. I am faithful that things are good and prosperous in my future and in my life. I am faithful. I believe that it’s gonna be ok…

More storms tonight. I dismantled the “roof” off of my poor crippled up gazebo. GAK. It’s gonna take a villiage to put this backyard back together again. But hopefully no tornados…there were a few spotted earlier down south…I’m sure we’ll be rockin and rollin around here pretty soon so I wanted to post this then turn the machine off.

I had a few clients today. More than one. Tomorrow…more than one so that’s good. I also got facebooked by a girl who was a few grades ahead of me in high school who wants hair done…so that’s cool. Keep up the good joo joo people. It’s a workin.

I have Dexter awaiting me. I started a new book today but thusly it hasn’t grabbed my attention. I await the weekend. I see a new show at my theatre on Friday then a reunion planning meeting with HS folks on Saturday. I’m excited for factime with GERT and JOE…

MY FREAKING DAMNED HAIR IS IN A PONY TAIL!!!!

70 mile and hour winds last night.
Woke me up from a somewhat dead sleep. My window in my bedroom was open and I thought it was the second coming. of anything. scared the shit out of me…I could hear the gazebo going down into pieces and IMMEDIATLY started to worry and fret and fight with the voice in my head that said, “you should have fixed your back yard days ago and this wouldn’t be happening”

Yes. The Gazebo is in bits and pieces. Fabric is torn. The top is completly off and on the ground. The sides are wonky and jacked up…but I think I can fix it. It’s gonna take a day off without rain and nasty weather, and a lot of time. Perhaps a staple gun and some creativity…but hopefully we can get her put back together. It’s pretty disheartening to sit here and look out there this morning though.

I got up and turned on the weather. Apparently it was collapsing thunderstorms. they were saying stay away from windows, dont go outside…bla bla bla. Have to say, I was a little nervous and a lot pissed that my sleep was interrupted. The hell? I dont know if we got one drop of rain, or just the mammoth wind but today it’s sun shiny, and while still pretty windy, there aren’t farm animals flying about so that’s a plus!

and today…today I need lots of good vibes, referrals, luck, prayers, all of it. One mens cut. That’s ALL I HAVE. My color that was scheduled tonight lost her job and had to cancel. I’m kind of freaking out about money. I made calls yesterday, but everybody is kind of in the same boat…and I don’t know what to do. So. Say a little prayer for me today.

I finished Eat, Pray, Love last night during the storm. I can’t believe I dodged that book for as long as I did. . . but I wasn’t ready to read it then. It was the perfect time…now.

Want to know another sign that my heart is wrapped up tight and on the mend? I saw him last night for about ten minutes. And it was fine and conversation was normal and the only wierd thing was we didn’t hug, that was a little stilted but whatever. I offered him some of my homemade soup to take home in payment for doing me this favor and he said, “No.”
