That Folgers commercial where the “brother” who looks kinda like my bf Adam Pascal, returns home from South Africa and the little sis is up and they talk and make coffee and the smell of coffee, or South Africa in the kitchen wakes up the mom and dad and they rush downstairs and embrace?
makes me weepy everytime. The old one, with Peter? Still my favorite.
Tomorrow will be fabulous. Easy breezy with my Mom coming over to hang out, I’m going to cook, really for no one special but myself and perhaps Gert, I need to go to the liquor store for some wine, and foil. I need foil. But I think it’s pretty much set. wahoo!!!
Ok. Have a great day kids! May your Thanksgiving Eve be filled with fun and anticipation and perhaps just a little rest. I’m outta here for the day, will see you tomorrow. It’s a special one tomorrow!
PS: my lip has gone down! wahoo!!!

I have been watching that commercial for probably as long as I have watched commercials. I never knew he was coming from South Africa, I thought he was coming for holiday break from college. How do we know he came from South Africa?

I haven't seen Peter's commercial in many years, but as soon as I read what your wrote, I remembered it immediately. Funny how those commercials stick in your mind because they evoked some emotion. I think that it would be similar if I showed up on my parents' doorstep tomorrow for Thanksgiving when they thought I would be at home in London. Maybe I should try it one year. Except that I would have to bring my own Italian Roast coffee, as my parents only drink decaf now.Happy cooking. Lisa (ICLW #195 yourgreatlife)

I don't care how long the tree has been up. I don't care how many lights have been strung. I don't care if my shopping is done, or how many dozen cookies have been baked. Until Peter gets home from college, it ain't Chrstmas
