May I ‘ave s’more please???

What a day! Took a road trip to El Reno, hometown, to eat lunch at Jobe’s. SO.FREAKIN.GOOD.
Charburger with Cheese. Cheese Tots. Diet Coke. Bite of hamburger pizza and an onion ring or two….

Sooooooo it’s program all the way for me this week!!! But that’s ok. No guilt. It was TOTALLY worth it. I don’t know how food can taste exactly the same as it did lo these many years ago, but it was fabulous.

Came home, it’s rainy and bleagh here so not so much working in the yard as I’d planned. Mostly just lazed around. Went to the chiropractor again…I have this back/hip thing that makes me cranky and feel generally crappy and old…so I’ve been having a few adjustments. Other than that, nada. Couch. Old eps of Gilmore Girls.

Sambo did kill himself his first bird today. All cats banned to outside until any remnants are disposed of.

Dancing with the Stars is still keeping me hooked and Heros is on later…nothing about that sucks.

I’m still full from lunch but damn Gina, I’d take another charburger if it was available to me! So few blasts from the past are that good…slurp.

Happy day. i love George Clooney.
and I’m pretty sure he loves me.

Weekend Update

Had a busy weekend, a nice one. Sat across from Gert Friday night and had a good chat, busy at work on Saturday, went downtown to the ballpark for the Bedlam Baseball which is a GINORMOUS event in OKC. Had some ballpark beers for $6.50 (ridiculous!!) and came home to sleep the day away here today. It was cloudy, overcast, storm watch all day. Perfect for doing not much of nuthin.

That’s the good stuff.

The bad stuff is, May has turned into the event month from hell. I have no idea when I’ll get to go to Arkansas to help my mom move into her new house. I have a high school graduation at the end of the month that I’ve yet to hear details on, wheather or not we’re invited to Dallas bla bla bla. This is the reason I did not go on the NYC trip with my friends this year so if it falls through…arg. And to top it all off, my car got hit. I think it must have been sometime friday night at the bar, or maybe Saturday when I was in Old Navy getting some jeans. That’s when I noticed it anyway. I’ve got to call the insurance company tomorrow about that.

here’s a few pics. Ouchy car pics and my pretty flowers in my yard. That rose is the most beautiful thing ever!

till then…huzzuah and happy Sunday! and I love George Clooney.

Who needs therapy. . .

. . . when we have this?

These blogs, these words, the comments that we all anxiously await, fervently check back, rapidly respond to…

Life lines…before Millionaire.

Connections within the chaos.

Nice to know we’re here, we’re there, before jobs that snack, before families that wear, before hair, before it all. . .

we’re here.

sat across the table from Gertie tonight. JoyJoyJoy.
Refill on my soul please…
and soon I’ll sit across the table from you.
and you.

and she and I haven’t seen faces in a month…but we’re here.

Right Here.
and you were there, and you, and you. . . talked about you. Raised a glass. Laughed.

THAT’S WHY I’M NOT FUCKIN MOVING!!!!!

One for the Road

http://youtube.com/v/4krwxlKya1I

So…it’s over May 15th. Series finale of Gilmore Girls. We knew it was coming…and it’s probably ok. It hasn’t really been the same since the Palladino’s left. Here’s a parting shot from our friends at youtube…

Our a/c busted this week. annoying as hell. I guess he is going to call the landlord people…ugh. cats. double ugh. I’m so ready to move it’s not funny. . . so send some energy my way and let’s see what the universe brings, ok?

Have a great weekend, happy Friday!
i still love george clooney.

She’s Back!!!

After a brief hiatus from the blogging world due to getting new fabulous stuff for her computer, Kizz is Back!!!! Huzzah! Go say a nice howdy ho and tell her how much we missed her!!!

I’m in a bitchy ass mood so that’s as good as it gets for me. I must have worn Chorme’s cranky pants to sleep. . . . grrrrrrr. hiss. spit.

but i still love george clooney and hope you have a great Thursday!

FINALLY!!!

I’ve been waiting for this. I’ve been waiting for this episode ever since Loralie proposed to Luke that fateful night in the diner. I’ve been watching and muttering and cursing and watching, still. Faithful to the finish. I’ve watched through Luke. Through Christopher. Through Luke and then Christopher again. I’ve been through Dean and Jess and Logan. Finally….

The episode shows up that displays so many reasons why I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

Now, I do love Luke. I did NOT love Luke during most of seasons 5 and 6. So this isn’t a “they are finally getting back together and all is right in the world” post. Nope. Too easy people.

The writing was there. We saw depth in relationships, growth in character, layers and layers of STUFF come to the surface. The writers…MY GOD someone finally showed up and wrote something…did well. Very well.

Lane and Zach. Rory and the NYTimes. Paris and the naked cake. Luke and his daughter. Karaoke and drinking. Loralie. Lauren Graham has been robbed with the lack of attention and Emmys for this character. She does some fine work.

So, I’m obviously happy with finally seeing these people again. These people who I love, who I’ve watched grow up. These people who I live with in my fantasy Stars Hollow. I’m happy they came back.

Ten Things Tuesday: Things I’d Miss About Oklahoma If I Moved. Which I’m Not Doing. But If I Did, I’d Miss These Things

What with my entire family (sans Bonus Mom) leaving the state and dropping hints about as subtle as an anvil about me moving, I got to thinking about what I’d miss about this state. Here are a few. Ten to be exact.

1.) Friends. Bette sang it best, Ya Got To Have Friends!! My friend base is so spread out that I know I can keep people without having them geographically, but there’s a core here that keeps me sane and keeps me grounded, face to face.

2.) Gas Prices. I know their high everywhere, and especially here right now, but even then I’m only paying 2.70 per gallon. How much are you paying?

3.) Speaking of prices, let’s talk about beer prices! 1.25 long neck bottles. With the highest being 2.00 at most venues. That my friends does NOT suck.

4.) Oklahoma Weather. Spring storms, tornadoes, crazy winter watches with more ice than snow. The first snowflake that causes the ENTIRE city to shut down! LOVE IT!

5.) My boyfriend David Payne, emmy-award-winning-storm-chaser-morning-weather-guy-on-channel-4.

6.) Sonic. I love being able to go get a “coke” anytime day or night. Within reason. And by “coke” I mean anything from a cherry limeade, to peach ice tea to cherry vanilla creme sprite to an actual coke. diet with lime please.

7.) Those Sonic guys on the commercials. They are my favorite. I crack up laughing out loud at every commercial.

8.)Griffin’s syrup. Or any Made In Oklahoma product. Schwans chili, Cain’s coffee, yumm-o.

9.)The Great State Fair of Oklahoma. Corn Dogs. Fried Cheese. Expensive draught beer. Mullets the size of Texas.

10.) The Red Dirt. Our mothers cursed it when we ran around outside with our white socks. There’s not enough Clorox in the WORLD to counteract that. It’s beautiful.

Having listed all these, I’m so not moving. To another house when I buy one, but that will probably be within a 30mile radius of where I am now. However, it’s nice to remember why we love where we are. And if we don’t. . . why are we there???

Huzzuah and Happy Tuesday and I love George Clooney.

Update

So, last week I weighed in and allegedly lost 2.8 lbs. That was untrue. It was really 3.4 Hooray for Hollywood. TOday, another 2.6 is gone for a grand total of 14.6 pounds that are missing from my hiney. OR this:
Pretty cool.

On to other news…

Yesterday I got up early and went down to the marathon and clapped and cheered on the runners. I have to say, this was an incrediblly emotional experience. SO amazing were these people, all shapes and sizes and various levels of fit. So cool. Have you ever done that? We were at the bottom of a hill, and kept yelling to the girls, Keep Going! George Clooney is a the top waiting for you!! Fun with George. Tee hee hee.

Went to the dentist today. Apparently, I grind my teeth. Must be fitted for a guard. Before we do that however, we must find out how much my insurance will pay to replace all the veneers, which are 17 years old and receeding and causing gum ickyness. So we’re looking at replacing all those. OH and I have to go get some deep cleaning done around a wisdom tooth that I refuse to have pulled. BLeagh. TWO HOURS in that chair and I hurt and bleagh bleagh bleagh.

Had lunch with my dad today….anyone ready for this: wait for it. . .

He’s moving.
Not to Arkansas, which was my first guess. Probably to eastern Oklahoma, or Missouri, still very close to Taryn and the Gang. He’s struggling with leaving me here, I said go go go. Don’t stay for me. I’m fine here. He tried to talk about me moving too. . . well I dont want to move. Until the morning comes when I wake up and say “I want to move”, I don’t want to move. I was pretty fine, but now feel a little funk setting in.

My teeth hurt.

I and Bonus Mom will be the only thing family wise left in Oklahoma. Meme Lois is here, still in Granite and Papa is still in the rest home in Altus, but as far as functioning family. . . that’s it. Interesting.

SO there. That’s it from here. I’m wondering how Kizz’s weekend went and her computer is getting more good stuff added to it so I’ll just wait and send good thoughts. Joe is fighting with his car, Gert is in transition. . . Hopefully this will be one of those transition times where we all come out smelling the roses.

Huh?
See. My teeth freakin hurt. I’m off to take some ibuprofin. We’ll see if I can muster up ten things for tomorrow….

Friday File

I realize we have much to discuss. It’s been an eventfull week.

Last night we had the first of the debates and I think from what I saw, the Dems did ok. It was very cordial. No one was sucker punching anyone, we were on a first name basis for the most part. I only saw the last half hour, stupid me, I thought it was aired in prime time. duh.

We’ve had departures. Rosie is leaving. More importantly, so is Gertie. Both flying to better and more fulfilling things. Well wishes abound for the both of them.

I got my first Mystic Tan. It’s ok. I’m not super dark, but it certainly looks better. My theory has always been, chocolate pudding is MUCH more appealing than cottage cheese. So there.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY:

We’ve had our first kill. This is what I woke up to Wednesday morning. . . bleagh. Kind of grossed myself out then rallied and ran for the camera. Baby’s all growns up.

slurp.

Just a few more bites

If you haven’t checked out Chromeplatedgirl’s blog, go do so now. Her 10 Things Tuesday was fantastic! I’ve been to several of those places with and without her and I’d forgotten about them, so it was verra cool!

In reference to Kizz’s post a few days ago, I had myself a ‘sign’ moment I thought I’d share.

I’m in the salon, sitting next to the assistant and Phil’s age comes up. She, (19 and oh so not sharp) asks what’s the difference in our age. “21” I say. “years?” she says. “Nope. 21 minutes…here’s your sign.” The receptionist died laughing as did I. I don’t know that the assistant even got it…but that’s ok by me.

Kizz, keep me posted on your week from Hell. and I’m DYING to know who your ghost reader is. . . hmmmmm. Smoke ’em out, I say!

If you wanted to know where I found those T-shirts it was here

That’s about it I think.

Huzzah to you. Enjoy your humpday!
