And another thing!

I forgot to tell you i bought a bed!!! Queen mattress set and bed frame and delivery and the sweet high school boy who helped me and Che dismantle the daybed thing I was sleeping on all for less than 500 bucks!

I’m on my way to grown-up-ville.

Fresh Mattress. . . methinks that should DEFINITELY go on the eHarmony questionnaire!

Barkin, Birthdays and Bull**it

“And I’m very good and was always very good with getting older. It was always a
big thing for me. Like, great, now I’m 30, great. Now I’m 40, great. Now I’m 50,
great. You know, aging always made me feel more substantial, as if I had more to
offer other people and was more open.” –Ellen Barkin

Since we’re all getting older around the same time, (Chrome you and Mamalamb are next!)I thought this was appropriate. I’m a big birthday person. I love my birthday. I love it like I love New Years Day. For me it’s a time of contemplation and cleaning the slate. The Ultimate Do-Over We all do it differently and that is fine and dandy. I found this quote and thought it was a good one for how I feel. She’s freakin awesome anyway, right?

BonusMom is in Nebraska, the service is tomorrow. We are under a tornado watch until 4 today. wahoo. Spring weather in october. huh. I weigh in today. Eh. a little ambivlient about it right now. Did pretty good foodwise, still haven’t done much exercixing. Same story different verse. bla bla bla fishcakes.

I’ve already cleaned up some cat vomick and oh look! a hairball. good grief. My life is an ad for the crazy parade.

here’s another little thought I’ll put out there…some friends of mine, including myself, are pondering doing the eHaromney thing…wanting to meet someone(s) new and not really having a clue as to where and how to do it. I know the eHarm is about 50 bucks a month, but I like their commercials. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas or comments or experience (yours or a friends) that you’d like to share? If you don’t want to post a comment, we can email for more privacy. I am really thinking about doing this and would in the pest possible scenario like to avoid picking or getting matched to the neighborhood pedophile. wha wha whaaaaaaaaa.

Just saw a trailer for Martian Child starring our collective boyfriend John Cusack and his delicious sister Joan. My oh my. it had me at hello. I haven’t heard of this so will have to research and soooooo put it at the top of my list!

Ok faithful readers, that’s it for me. I have to gather props, hit the showers, make a stop by the grocery for more catfood (that they will immediatly give back) and coffee and get to work. It’s a semi slow day but I do have some appointments and with dress/tech tonight and tomorrow, I’m not working full hours for the rest of the week. I’ll be in and out with updates that I’m sure you’re waiting breathlessly for. Until then, Huzzuah and Happy Wednesday! Let’s not forget,

I love George Clooney.

Farewell

BonusMom’s father passed away today shortly before noon. She’s heading back to nebraska and services are to be held on Thursday. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Even when it’s a blessing, when the suffering is so great, the loss is even greater.
We have all had enough loss this year. I have to say, I’m just tired of it.

I will light a candle in rememberance. Peace be with you.

These are the Days of our Lives

Another great weekend folks. Just jam packed with friends and fun.

Last week was a crazy one for me. I had something every single night, hair on Tuesday, rehearsal wed and Thursday. Friday I met the Purple Pool gals at Deep Deuce Grill. We sat on the patio by the fire pit and had drinks and food and laughter in droves. Just awesome to hang out and to enjoy life. Work was busy on Saturday. (It’s been so slow…I wasn’t even booked 50% of the last pay period. Ugh.} It was Gert’s birthday weekend and we were tossing about some plans for Saturday night.

Everything we thought about kind of fell through…but we settled on dinner and drinks at Bin 73 then headed over to some friends house to finish watching the OU game and hang for a bit. We then decided to go find her brother in El Reno and play around. . . it was during a conversation about cold beer and music that we got the idea to road trip…

Now I understand what your concept of a road trip may be.

Forget it.

Small town America defines road trip as such:

Pile into a truck (really does need to be a pickup of some kind) Hit the drive thru snap-e-sack for beer. Pool all the cd’s you’ve ever had in your entire life into the cab of said truck. Drive with music turned up and windows down thru the back roads of every little town adjoining yours. Discover some country roads that have never been discovered before. Change cd’s about every two songs. Sing at the top of your lungs. Stop to pee outside. Bend over and loose your phone. Drive back into town to the snap-e-sack for another thing of beer and a water. Laugh till you cry, sing till you laugh. Get stuck on singing Wave on Wave by Pat Green at least a gozillion times all the while proclaiming your love for the song and how AMAZING the songwriter is. So talented. Realize at around 2am that no one is really singing anymore, you’re really freaking tired and it’s time to call it a night.

It was THE BEST TIME. So fun. Seriously we used to do that at least once a weekend and it’s been damned near 20 years since I’ve done it. Gert had a good time…she’s not big on birthdays which always lends itself to a clusterfuck because everyone around her wants her to love the birthday and celebrate and Huzzuah it up. So this was her idea, her time, and I was just lucky enough to get to spend it with her.

I’ve been in this relationship with her for 21 years.

It’s been, and continues to be the most successful relationship I’ve ever been in. There is something amazing, truly amazing to have such a witness to your life, and vice versa. We have been through boys and men, graduations,

moving out for the first time, credit card debt, birthdays,

weddings funerals, births, re-births, divorces, more beginnings and endings than can be found in a bookshop. It’s it is really, one of my proudest accomplishments, this friendship.

Gert, here’s to you. Here’s to another year of living and learning and laughing. I love you. Happy birthday.

HUZZUAH!!!

I did it. I hit my 10% goal. Officially. Unofficially, from my starting weight on Jan 1, I’m over. I feel really good about it…thought I’ve really slacked off on doing program by the book…I’m working on getting back to the basics with that. My leader isn’t the best in the world, we’re supposed to set another goal after the 10% but we didn’t. I’ve just set it for another 10% so here we go again!

Rehearsal last night was a train wreck. just as zoo-y as it could possibly be. Ugh. The director and i went to a crappy little dive bar in the hometown and vented over a cold beer. I didn’t get home till about midnight so it’s a slow moving morning. I’ve turned the tv to FITTV channel and have been doing some yoga this morning. Typing during commercials…feels good to streach it out.

another rehearsal tonight. oy vey.

BonusMom leaves for Nebraska this morning. Continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Seems as if it wasn’t mini-strokes that hindered her dads swolling but a symptom of the dementia. He’s comfortable at the moment. The brothers and sisters have decided against a feeding tube and have made a DNR…tough stuff…

Ok. have to hit the showers. Have a great day. I leave you with a picture of what I’ve lost total.
the baby. not the shaved funky looking mama alpaca.
25.3 lbs.

Light a candle, say a prayer

BonusMom’s dad is not doing well. At all. He’s been in a care-giving place for awhile now, up in Nebraska where they are all from, but has been transferred this week because of difficulty swallowing. They think it was a series of mini strokes. Whatever, it doesn’t look good. BonusMom is heading up there tomorrow. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

My friend Britt is about to lose her grandmother. Add her to your list.

On a lesser level, I weigh in today. I’ve been ingesting fiber the last few days to try to counteract all the hot dogs and chips I ate over the weekend. Have also begun walking the frontier road. (ok, i did a little walk yesterday and PLAN to do it again every morning) in hopes to get some stuff moving on the body. So far, I’m full of fiber. . . gassy and a little sore. Let’s keep up the pep squad section because I’m falling farther and farther away from that 10%goal. I can feel it. Probably self sabotaging but I’ll correct it soon.

Did Ex-Kid’s hair last night. Went over the their apartment and did some color and cutting and catching up. It was nice. Really nice. They made me dinner, we had tacos. I made the guacamole. Good times. Feels good that I still have them in my life.

Have rehearsal tonight and tomorrow. Can’t believe we go up next weekend. Feeling a little anxious about that…people in the audience that know me from way back…I’ve tried to figure out why I feel like that. Maybe if I was thinner. But i am thinner…who knows. the psychosis runs deep.

Pretty sure I’m still in love with George Clooney. This pic is too good not to use again.I made it my screen saver. Slurp. Nice way to start my day. . . gazing into those eyes. Am going to try to get in a viewing of his movie this weekend…Gert’s got a birthday coming up so we may play with her instead…either way a good time to be sure.

Huzzuah and happy hump(inggeorgeclooney)day.

Fall Fest

Here’s a few pics from the party. Wonderboy had a large large time, running around and playing with all the other kids. It shut down around 11pm and we got everything closed up and in the house. He was on the pullout couch saying in a very whiney and tired voice” I’m not every gong back to sleep not now not ever not zzzzzzzzzzzzz”fell asleep mid sentence. pretty funny. We all shuffled off to sleep, Sis included (she saved all the vomiting until the next day!) anyway we had over a hundred participants and a good time was had by all. I’ve eaten all weekend long!!! Not looking forward to Wednesday.

Finally got all the stuff out of the house with ExHim. got everything but my pictures off of the computer and he said he’d work on that. I believe him. The morning glories are bursting in the front yard, and the tomato plants are loaded with bright red fruit in the back. It, the whole thing, made me sad. just sad.

On a bright side, I bought myself a new toy this weekend. Alas, faithful readers, not that kind of toy. I got a dvd recorder/vhs combo. Verra nice. My bro in law carried the tv in the house for me and took me shopping with his handy dandy discount. Nice.
so. . . the room is coming together. Feeling like home. . . except for the bed. I’m calling upon you. You who own grownup things like beds and furniture and have bought them rather than inherited them as hand me downs.

I’m on the hunt. I need a bed. I want a queen size. A good bed. I’ve heard Sam’s Club has good prices. Anywhere else? Where should I go? What is a “good price” for both box spring and mattress? That’s my next purchase, I’ll be really happy to get that by my birthday next month.

Ok. Time to go vote for Dancing with the Stars. Jenny Garth rocked it tonight. Go Girl!

Happy tomorrow, and let’s not forget how much I love George Clooney.

Fall Fest Double Oh Seven

Tonight is the party! I’m really excited. It’s such a laid back, fun evening…wish all of you could join us. There are still a million things to get done but Wonderboy and his parents are arriving around noon today, so my Bro-in-Law will be a big help. Everybody PLEASE cross your fingers that my sis is upright and not vomiting. She hit 12 weeks in her pregnancy this week, and allegedly that is when the bleagh subsides…let’s just hope she can enjoy the weekend.

This time last year. . . it was this weekend (fall fest, not the exact date) that Dad and BonusMom announced they were splitting up. . . which means it was the last time I had fun with my dad. . . so many thoughts and changes looking back over the last year. Many of us thought we’d attended the final FallFest…alas it wasn’t so. This years will be even better!!!

I carved two pumpkins last night with those stencil thingies from pumpkin master or some such. It was kind of a pain in the neck, but the final product rocks! The gourds that were grown here, dried out and dremmeled into shrunken heads have been hung with the lights in their mouths…we’ll move those to the trees this evening and light the candles…I’ll take many pictures to post for you to enjoy as well.

I hope you are all having a great ending to a week, and looking to a easy relaxing weekend.

Chrome these shiny stars are for you. Wish upon them and know you are even more shiny and more beautiful.
