I am sad about that

Came home from rehearsal last night to find my patio in chaos. The wind, the 30 plus mile an hour winds had blown over my umbrella and glass table. Yes, we should have put the umbrella down, but it wasn’t windy when I left and I didn’t even think ahead. I came home to see it all toppled over, the umbrella in pieces. I loved this thing. It was a special gift from my Mom and Bonus Dad, that they spent way too much on and that Bonus Dad really picked out for me. Nice. and now, in pieces being used as a kitty tent.

Sad to get sad about “stuff” when there is really important stuff to get sad about, but it is what it is.

On a brighter note, rehearsal started to really come together last night. I left there feeling pretty good. There are a few scenes that just draaaaaaaaaag, but hopefully those will get corrected and we’ll have a fun show.

Huzzah and Happy Thursday. Tomorrow my bf G.C. has a new movie opening and it looks as if I’ll have to view it by myself. Everyone is either working, out of the state, sitting with kids/grandkids. Whatever. I’m SO GOING!!! Happy Day and I love George Clooney!

Ten Things Tuesday: George Edition

In honor of the imminent arrival of Ocean’s Thirteen staring my boyfriend George Clooney, I thought I’d do a nice little list of what-not’s for you. Tasty tidbits, if you will.

10.) His filmography is extensive, and while I was looking thru it I remembered him on Sisters. Sigh with me everyone. That was a great show. He was super sexy as Detective James Falconer….

9.)He’s the only Batman to ever win an Oscar.

8.) The infamous pet pig, Max, died last year.

7.) One of my top favorite South Park episodes, Big Gay Al’s Big Gay Boatride, starred my boyfriend as Sparky, the dog. I remember seeing this ep when I was touring. So funny.

6.)Three Kings got him famous more for his fight with his fight with the director, but also solidified the friendship with Mark Wahlberg who starred with him in the Perfect Storm. Both of these films, I really really like.

5.) That bet he made with Nicole Kidman and Michelle Pfeiffer went bust. No kids. at 40. and it looks like not by 50 either. That is a sad bloodline to go to waste.

4.) Speaking of Michelle, One Fine Day is on top of my Sunday movie on tv must watch list.

3.) I haven’t seen the entire piece he filmed in Dufar, but am happy to see celebrity working for the greater good.

2.) He’s a busy busy bee. Five projects in pre/post production, so says IMDB.

1.) If you never loved him before, O Brother Where Art Thou should have sealed the deal for you. He’s a Dapper Dan man, bona fide keeper of my heart.

And then there were nine

Had our first rehearsal in a week last night…blocking all of act 2 and starting at 6. Huh. Two of us started at 6, the rest of these women motored in starting at 7 and thru 7:30!!!! THEN we find out that one girl has quit the show. She’s “tried to get ahold of the director” bla bla bla. So we’re now, three weeks into production, three weeks until we open and down one cast member. HOLY EFFING CRAPPOLA ON A CRACKER!

I am annoyed and trying to find humor in it.

meanwhile…after three weeks on no meetings or no weighing in, I went to WW today.

I had a small loss, and the grand total of 12.8. Not bad. That is how much those hedge trimmers weigh, so the thought of carrying that around, or NOT carrying that around feels good. I’m going to get the tires on my new mountain bike fixed today, so that will be in my future!

Our a/c is on the fritz, so am waiting for the guy to come have a cookie lookie. Heading outside to plant some things and get some sun and activity.

Dry as the Sahara

I feel like I should have just a gillion things to talk about. Life, work, cats, new movies, plans for June (since it’s already here), the play…but seriously folks. I’m dry dry dry. Random thoughts float in and out of the brain area and I think, blog that. Thoughts on politics, news bits, celebrity gossip…but it goes away. Gone. So…the onset of early Alzheimer’s has begun I guess. Or it was the weekend that did me in and I’m still recovering? Who knows.

Some good things this weekend:

I’ve got a busy day today thru Saturday, so that is a nice relief.

Movies: Knocked Up with Katherine Heigel. Looks fun-neeee to me. May catch that.
Next week though, HUZZUAH! June 8th! Then I have tickets to Wicked the next night, so that’s a fun weekend.

We’ve had catastrophe with rehearsals this week and have nothing until Sunday night. Ugh. I’m working on lines like a freak, but it’s all conversation and I really need that other voice. Hopefully I’ve made progress on this one.

I’m ready to get back to WW meeting on Monday. I feel a little lost without it these past 3 weeks. I’ll be anxious to see what’s happened w/o meetings and journaling…ewwwww.

I need some summer reads. Any thoughts?

I guess that is about it from here. Time to go make my food for the day and get clean. Huzzah and Happy Thursday! I love George Clooney. Duh. I wonder why Julia isn’t in 13? Anyone know?

Ten Things Tuesday: Invisible Edition

Yes. I realize it’s Tuesday. I realize I should be posting a list of ten somethings. But I got nuthin. It was a long hard weekend, we got Mom and Burl moved into their new house. We did a quick run at Paseo Arts Fest and picked up some funky art. We put the new mattress pad and egg crate foam topper thingy on the bed. Did laundry. Drove to and Arkansas and back. I’m beat down. I have rehearsal tonight from 6-?? and frankly my dear, I’m just tired. Here’s a few pics to tide you over. The new rooster’s name is Cogburn. The flamingo we got a few years ago, her name is Francis. The new gardendeva stuff…the Water Deva goes along with the little kitty in the planter. I’ve had the dog Bingo and Bliss girl for awhile. It’s a nice little arraignment to look at. Wish we were all outside resting and relaxing with each other right now.

Oh. and the cats just brought in a bird. TO THE HOUSE!!! BLEAGH!!! Phil had to be the bird remover this morning.

Ya Gotta Have Faith (clap clap clap)

So this woman in the show, that I play opposite of, is WEARING ME SMOOTH OUT!!! I feel I am in a tricky position here. She’s needing direction desperatly. Things like slow down. Don’t work so hard on line memorization right now. Don’t worry about the “bits” we’ll do until we get the gist of the scene. SLOW DOWN. There’s a difference between high energy and speed. There is a fine line between authentic and campy. . . draw that line and stay on the authentic side. These women are real. There is no wink wink nudge nudge going on.

But….it’s only three rehearsals into it and we’ve blocked act 1 and really no notes on anything at this point and that is fine by me. EXCEPT, most everyone in the cast has some experience, and she really doesn’t. I feel like she NEEDS that early information before she works herself into things that cannot be undone later.

Someone tell me to shut the eff up. That I’m not directing this gig. So just learn my lines and work the part and let that be that.

It’s not a power trip, or an ego thing. I swear it’s not. I just can see this woman getting all bunched up and freaked out over stuff because she’s just kind of going on her own…we all did that at one point before we were told what and how to work through it.

Ok. I feel better just having purged all of it. Other than that, the show is going fine. We really don’t have a lot of rehearsal time, and it may wind up being somewhat more Waiting for Guffman than Nederlander Productions but that’s fine. Fun Fun Fun.

In other news, Mom closes on her house at 3:00 tomorrow!!! Can I get a HUZZUH?!?!? We’re leaving around 4 or so tomorrow and coming home sometime on Sunday. Another quick trip but I want some downtime at the home. And I want to go to Paseo Arts Festival. It’s my favorite fest we have here. Great local art by fantastic artists. I always buy something from Garden Deva. LOVE THEM!! Go look at their site! I have several pieces already. This year I’m looking for a cat of some sort!

I don’t watch American Idol, but I guess that was a big deal last night. I mourn the end of t.v. Summer tv is all reality all the time and BLEAGH. Have any of you seen the commericals for the Ex-Wives Club? Shar Jackson, Marla Maples (where the hell has SHE been?) and Angie Everhardt are helping couples on the brink of breaking up…someone hand me a vomit bag. Bring on SEPTEMBER!! Not really, because I’m excited for summer, but you know what I’m saying.

Alli and her bfriend are coming over tonight for dinner and hair-doings. Chicken fajitas and grilled corn. YUM-OH!! Though her hair is ridiculously thick and takes me foreveah to do, it’ll be a decent evening.

What are your plans for this weekend? It’s the kickoff to summer! I’ll be back when I can, and when I do it will be a mere few days until OCEAN’S THIRTEEN!!!
Huzzah and Happy Thursday! I really do love George Clooney. He’s lost some weight lately. Maybe he needs a chicken fajita….

Update

Talked to Dion last night! Things are good good good for him! Still doing Full Monty, I think that moves right into King and I then he’s back in Chicago for a bit until the next few things pan out. It was fantastic to hear his voice, he’s soo good! We can breathe easy for a bit!

I have other stuff but I’m just tired this morning, so it’s going to have to wait.
Huzzuah and Happy Wednesday.
I love George Clooney.

Ten Things Tuesday: Things I’m excited about

The busy season is upon us. Or at least it’s upon me. Here are a few things I’m excited about:

1.) Being back on the stage. We’ve had two rehersals thus far, I think the setting/outdoor venu will be a titch sparse, and who knows what it will add to the show, but the cast is pretty funny. It’s early yet, but we’re starting to mesh.

2.) Hairspray the movie. Just watched my DVR’d ep of Oprah with the entire cast on it. Michelle Pfiffer is still just the most fabulous. John Travolta in drag. tee hee hee.

3.) Summer. I’m ready for laying out in the sunshine and having club specials at the bar. slurp.

4.) Wicked. My tickets are for June 9th. I’ll be excited to see some live theatre.

5.) My mom’s house being finished. She’s worked and longed for this event for over a year now. We are crossing our fingers that they close at the end of this week.

6.) My impending trip to NYC for fun and education. I’m ready ready ready.

7.) Wonderboy’s summertime visit. I have muy events planned for us and can’t wait to hang out!

8.) June 8th. Ocean’s 13.

9.) Summer concerts at the zoo that I’ll get to see. Heart. 38 Special. Stevie Miller. Lyle Lovett. The Pretenders. Def Leppard. KISS. Bring. It. On.

10.) ROAD TRIP!!!! Somewhere. Sometime. It’s gonna happen.

and I love George Clooney.

Has ANYONE Seen This Gorgeous Man???

I miss him. I got a text from him last night or well, this morning about 3 a.m. Crazy boy. I have not talked to him in forever. FOREVER people…but the thing is…he’s in my heart. I talk to him every day. I laugh at things he’d laugh at, I tuck little jokes away in the DeDe File in my brain because I know he’d enjoy that tidbit, I watch tv or movies thinking about him. He’s with me.

But in doing that, I fail to email, or text, or call, or make ANY human contact. I suck.

He’s my soul. truly madly deeply. Has been since I met him. Funny that. I know he’s busy and movin’ and shakin’ and possibly showing his thang on stage. And busy we both are.

So this is an A.P.B. for that man. I love you!! I miss you!! and even though we suck at the communicating, you are still my soul and I know you’re not too far away…

For anyone that has been away from home with work or anything else, you know how lonely it can be. Stop by my comments, give the boy a shout out…I’ll send him the link.
