The Adventures of Wonderboy Vol.2

Just got a few more stories starring Wonderboy…that child is diabolical I tell you!

Mom is mere mintues from closing on the brand new house they’ve been building for a year. There are a few details that she doesn’t like and needs fixed, and by that I mean things she’s been continiously bitching about to anyone who will listen. One being a plug in/outlet that the builder has stuck on the outside of the bar in the kitchen. It should be flush with the cabinet, but is not. It sticks out and is really ugly. Well, Mom comes in the other day and Wonderboy is beating the shit out of that outlet with a big ass rock. She freaks out and he calmly says, “But Mamo, if I break it they will have to take it away and you will be happy!”

I told you so. Diabolical.

The second story begins with a father/son outing to Lowes for supplies and cement. My sis and her hubby are the king and queen of outdoor projects. Wonderboy gets to ride along and feels quite grown up in doing so. They start to load the 80lb bags of cement into the FJ and he wants to help. His dad says, “Wonderboy, these bags are way too heavy for you.” To which he responds, “Dad, I think you underestimate my strength.”

I’m not even kidding.

Making the Cut

TLC has a new reality show on the air titled Making the Cut. It’s filmed at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in LA where I studied this past January! It’s all so very cool to see our teachers and people I worked with on the show. This show follows the students from freshman class to seniors about to graduate…it’s pretty interesting to me. They haven’t done ANY publicity on this that I’ve seen, can find not much online on it so who knows.

Check your local listings, it’s on TLC on Fridays I believe. Set those DVR’s…

Remember my posts when I said there were a few I’d drink the red Kool-aid for? Tina is that teacher. She’s got the crazy red hair, you can’t miss her! John is the big guy with no hair, he’s the instructor in charge of me getting all my hair cut off that day!!!

So…I’m tired and it’s not going to get much better. Heading for coffee then to work. Enjoy your weekend people!

Whelmed….over and under

My schedule has blown up. Seriously blown smooth up. It’s been awhile since I’ve had such boundaries on my time…and why it’s overwhelming me, I don’t really know. It’s not as if I DO anything. Just knowing I’m bound to a schedule is freaking me out a little…

We have our first read through for the play on Sunday. I have a color class and rehearsal on Monday. I’m such a creature of habit, my Mondays are mostly sacred. So this is an exercise for shaking me up a little, getting out of the box so to speak. Right. I can do that.

I went to work yesterday and tried to move all my Wednesday night appointments to Thursday night so I can rehearse. Kind of frazzling. Now I need to check more dates throughout the summer as I have an opportunity to see a bunch of concerts at the Zoo Amphitheatre for FREE!!! I just have to be there 2 hours before doors open to watch the beer/liquor. Yup. You read that right! Just sit, make sure nothing walks off. . . then watch the concert for free. Now, this may very well be underwhelming most of you but GO check out the line up for the summer….and ps there are two that aren’t even listed. Stevie Miller and a surprise concert by KISS. The real deal. They are using it as a “rehearsal” before kicking off their big ass concert. Gene Simmons. Are you freakin kidding me??? So I have to go check my work schedule and kind of block out accordingly. PS…Gert and Joe, there may be shows that my contact doesn’t have stocked with workers if either of you are interested…

I have so much t.v. that I’ve DVR’d and have yet to watch. I guess I’ll watch Heros from this week, next week since it was a two part season finale. I am still mourning the end of Gilmore. Just watched last weeks Ugly Betty. I love that show, but that ep…not overly whelmed. Maybe it was because I was watching it way past my bedtime…

Okie doke. I need to go make my lunch. I’ve kind of fallen off the wagon food-wise this last week. I don’t think I’ve been really bad, but since I didn’t make my meeting on Monday, I feel a little loosey goosey with all of it. Ugh. When did I become such a creature of structure????

Oh. another thing. Kizz, Chrome, methinks that seeing a show would best fit the NYC schedule Saturday the 8th. We get in around 2 at La Guardia. Do either of you wanna join us? Let me know on that one.

That’s it. I’m outta here. I love George Clooney. not in a stalking kind of way, just in a let’s have about forty beers and hang out kind of way….anyone buy that? Anyone?

So much to cover…so little time

Whirlwind weekend doesn’t EVEN begin to cover the past few days. I think my arse is still dragging itself in the door, and that’s ok. I am happy with all the events. We’ll try to begin at the beginning…

Saturday night was Chrome’s parent’s 40th anniversary party. Kamikaze Katering Kompany was born. KKK. Yep. Believe me, if there’d been any white sheets around she and I would have huddled and snorked up about forty gallons of pino and called it good. Things were a bit hectic, but that’s her story to relate so go bug her. ALSO, she got a shiny new toy with which to post pictures. Force her hand people. I took zero that night. I got home a little after midnight. Hit my wall. Was done in from the day’s work and the night’s party and knew I had a drive ahead of me early the next day, so I crapped out. I owe her bigtime when I arrive in September.

Sunday a.m. I got up, ran about a half hour off schedule, but drove Bella to Arkansas to surprise Mom for her day. It was a huge surprise, complete with Bonus Dad just leaving the house and walking around the neighborhood so that she couldn’t find him to go to Wal Mart, therefore missing my arrival. Hysterical stuff, especially for my family. I did three haircuts, two colors and had a grand time with the nephew at the Orange Park after we picked him up from school the next day. As you can see…he wakes up grumpy, but works it out eventually!

I drove home and got to my house around 7pm that night.

Meanwhile during all of this, I have missed auditions for a show that I was going to do. They were Monday night. I talked to the director, who I kind of know thru my hometown community theatre years ago, and she gets her hair done at my salon, anyway, she casts me anyway. It’s a funny show called Radio T.B.S. Trailer Park Broadcasting Scandals. 10 women, 1 trailer park. It’s kind of riffing off the idea of the Tuna plays…but that’s ok. It will be delightful fun. It only has two performances, 13 rehearsals. Lot’s of words. We’ll perform outdoors in Yukon, kind of a “performance in the park” atmosphere, bring the picnic basket, the wine, the blankets and laugh out loud under the stars. Friday and Saturday night, June 22 and 23. Mark your calendar! There are a few lines I get to say that make me hork up my 100 calorie cupcakes last night.

So. I guess I’m crossing at least number 20 off my List. That’s cool.

I can’t really touch on Gilmore Girls finale yet. I cried all the way through. I freakin hate goodbyes…Feels like I’m losing a group of friends forever. I was so worked up I bellowed thru Dancing with the Stars when Ian got booted off…good freakin grief. All I know is this…when they put out the series collection on dvd in a fabulous box set, I’m SOOOOO getting it. Stars Hollow Forever.

Have a great day, I love you and I love George Clooney. Luckily there is no rehearsal scheduled for June 8th. Huzzah!!!

Friday Already???

Ok…which one of you are building the ARK??? Just give me the place and time, I’ll bring the cats.

We’ve had just a crazy amount of rain here. I think today is the first “dry” day we have all week, and hell, it’s only five till 7 in the a.m. so that is BOUND to change!!

Talked to Chrome last night…she’s home planning and hosting (along with her sis) the parental 40th anniversary party. Let’s just say stressed is a word that doesn’t even BEGIN to cover things!! It’s hard to plan stuff long distance, but I know they will pull it off and it will be just a great party for her parents. More on that as it develops!

Bella is coming home today! (my car) She’s all fixed and shiney shiney and new again! Huzzuah!!

This is really all the news I have. Gert had a big week…Congrats for the 9 years dear one! Motherhood looks great on you! I’ve been doing as you do…pick up a litle, clean a little keep it in motion this week. You’d be proud!!

Kizz, it’s good to see the pics back! Nice to see you and your beautiful face. I can’t wait till September!!!

I think that is all…enjoy your Friday!

George. Love. Me. Forevah….

Braggin’ Rights

So…my pseduo step kid has kicked ass once again. They finished their season last weekend and while they didn’t get the bid to go to Reigonals and then Nationals…she did get this:

Blake was named LSC North Division Pitcher of the Year for the second time in three years and the Oklahoma City junior finished 13-7 with a league-leading 1.57 earned run average. She pitched six shutouts and allowed just 21 walks in 147 1/3 innings while striking out 94.

They are celebrating at the bar tonight…alas it’s a school night and I’m home. For more you can check it out here.

meanwhile, I’ve started re-reading the Anita Blake series and I am devouring them. DEVOURING THEM I say. A book a day. It’s such a shame the author had to just take this series and trash it…but hey…you gotta love some soft porn/mystery/adventure/wearwolf/vampire novels. What’s not to love?

Oh, and I love George Clooney…June 8th people. JUNE EIGHTH!!!

Ten Things Tuesday: Gratitude

I’ve been riding the annoyance scale a little high as of late, family, work, life wearing me smooth. I think it’s time for some perspective and thankfulness.

10.) I’m grateful for my cats. Yes, in the grand scheme of things it may seem superficial, but I love having some life in the house and having something warm to love on and to care for. Makes me happy.

9.) My job. This is a double edge something as it is the cause of a certain amount of annoyance…there are moments when the 19 and 20 year olds just make me want to jump off of a bridge…but then my clients come in and I laugh for 45 minutes and it’s much better. I make people feel good before they walk out the door, and that makes me happy.

8.)My Weight Watchers support meetings. I love these women and men that I meet with every Monday. It’s a really nice way to start my week…even if I did gain .6 of a pound this time. Oh well!

7.) These blogs. I love our community of connectedness. Love Love Love it.

6.) My health…I’m so grateful to be healthy. To have my eyesight to read and be online and see my flowers…to be able to walk every day…all of it. Very thankful and blessed.

5.) I’m grateful for my home. It’s not the dream home I want to own soon, but it’s warm and cool when needed, and keeps me and mine out of the rain that is never going to stop here! But I’m grateful for the rain, too…pretty flowers.

4.) Bonus Mom. She is a lifeline in the middle of all the crazy even though she’s going through personal hell herself. It took us a long time to get this relationship, but it was worth the wait.

3.) Family…crazy is as crazy does….but without the bad we can’t really appreciate the good.

2.) My car, it’s banged up a bit right now, but I love it and love knowing I can jump in and go where ever in safety.

1.)My friends!! So many to love in this life. Be you here or there or somewhere in the middle…so thankful!

Huzzuah and Happy Tuesday! I love G.C.

May I ‘ave s’more please???

What a day! Took a road trip to El Reno, hometown, to eat lunch at Jobe’s. SO.FREAKIN.GOOD.
Charburger with Cheese. Cheese Tots. Diet Coke. Bite of hamburger pizza and an onion ring or two….

Sooooooo it’s program all the way for me this week!!! But that’s ok. No guilt. It was TOTALLY worth it. I don’t know how food can taste exactly the same as it did lo these many years ago, but it was fabulous.

Came home, it’s rainy and bleagh here so not so much working in the yard as I’d planned. Mostly just lazed around. Went to the chiropractor again…I have this back/hip thing that makes me cranky and feel generally crappy and old…so I’ve been having a few adjustments. Other than that, nada. Couch. Old eps of Gilmore Girls.

Sambo did kill himself his first bird today. All cats banned to outside until any remnants are disposed of.

Dancing with the Stars is still keeping me hooked and Heros is on later…nothing about that sucks.

I’m still full from lunch but damn Gina, I’d take another charburger if it was available to me! So few blasts from the past are that good…slurp.

Happy day. i love George Clooney.
and I’m pretty sure he loves me.

Weekend Update

Had a busy weekend, a nice one. Sat across from Gert Friday night and had a good chat, busy at work on Saturday, went downtown to the ballpark for the Bedlam Baseball which is a GINORMOUS event in OKC. Had some ballpark beers for $6.50 (ridiculous!!) and came home to sleep the day away here today. It was cloudy, overcast, storm watch all day. Perfect for doing not much of nuthin.

That’s the good stuff.

The bad stuff is, May has turned into the event month from hell. I have no idea when I’ll get to go to Arkansas to help my mom move into her new house. I have a high school graduation at the end of the month that I’ve yet to hear details on, wheather or not we’re invited to Dallas bla bla bla. This is the reason I did not go on the NYC trip with my friends this year so if it falls through…arg. And to top it all off, my car got hit. I think it must have been sometime friday night at the bar, or maybe Saturday when I was in Old Navy getting some jeans. That’s when I noticed it anyway. I’ve got to call the insurance company tomorrow about that.

here’s a few pics. Ouchy car pics and my pretty flowers in my yard. That rose is the most beautiful thing ever!

till then…huzzuah and happy Sunday! and I love George Clooney.
